After procuring the Key from Shivers in the Butler's Room, Luigi gained access to the Conservatory, where he found many instruments. Sitting at the grand piano was The Beautiful Pianist, Melody Pianissima. However, she was invisible to Luigi. Instruments
The Conservatory houses a variety of musical instruments. Each can be activated and plays a tune. The instruments consist of the following:
- Horn
- Harp
- Cello
- Three kettle drums
- Xylophone
- Grand Piano
The grand piano, unlike the other instruments, cannot be played.

Trivia
- The song played when all the instruments are activated is the Super Mario Bros. theme.
- In the beta version of Luigi's Mansion, the saxophones hung on the wall where the leftmost painting is now, next to a french horn (which was removed completely from the game), which hung where the rightmost painting is. They were accessed with steps Luigi could walk up to reach them. Ironically, the saxophone's beta spot is replaced by a picture of a ghost playing a saxophone, while the french horn's spot is replaced by a picture of a ghost playing what appears to be a french horn.
