Who has seen luma? Because when I saw the trailer I did not see luma and wouldn't rosalina be included if there were lumas? --Count b 21:04, 3 June 2009 (EDT) Count b
- If you see Mario running away from the two Banzai Bills, he'll Spin jump and a Luma appears briefly after him. --
¢oincoll€ctor 21:18, 3 June 2009 (EDT)
I see so that means rosalina is in the game because in the first one rosalina gave mario luma so I am going to put rosalina for now. --Count b 11:59, 4 June 2009 (EDT) Count b
- That's a bit too speculative. Just wait until we have some evidence. Just because something is "most likely" in the game, it isn't confirmed. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:41, 4 June 2009 (EDT)
- Luma's appearance doesn't confirm Rosalina's. In Mario Power Tennis (GBA version), Waluigi is playable, but Wario isn't. --Grandy02 14:10, 4 June 2009 (EDT)
Yes, yes, understood. --Count b 17:54, 4 June 2009 (EDT) Count b
Hey, I have a screenshot of part of the game derived from a bigger picture. Should I include the whole picture of just the screenshot? General bob-omb 16:46, 8 June 2009 (EDT)
You should probably put just the screenshot unless the image contains more screenshots of this game which then you should take each screen and cut them seperately and upload them one at a time. --Count b 17:09, 8 June 2009 (EDT) Count b
Ok. General bob-omb 17:28, 8 June 2009 (EDT)
Well if star bunnies appear than that could mean lumas appear to.

Confirmed Galaxies
Where exactly where those galaxies confirmed? Or are they just speculatively confirmed? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:49, 12 June 2009 (EDT)
It appears speculative. If it is actually confirmed, then a reference/footnote/piece of bibliography would be at the bottom of the article. Feel free to remove it. --RAP 13:53, 12 June 2009 (EDT)
There might be a slight typo in Haunty Hills Galaxy, every other source calls it Haunty Halls Galaxy. I think it should be fixed. -Damariogamr (talk)
New items
Not sure whether any of these have been found/noticed. Also, can anyone point out to me where there's a "switch that stops time"? - 2257(Talk) 16:47, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
- If you see the trailer, Mario appears to be switching a "clock"-like switch with the spin jump that turns the environment color into gray, and everything moves slowly.
- The "switch that stops time" appears in the E3 trailer at 1:33. When Mario hits the switch, the screen goes black & white, and the platforms stop rotating. The part in the trailer is too short to find out whether the time actually halted or just slowed down.
- We definitely noticed some previously unseen items - two of them are the power-ups for Yoshi we already mentioned in the article. The other items don't really have a place in the article because we don't have the slightest idea what they do. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:59, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
Looks like the powers ups for Yoshi are some type of fruit. Stick2012 22:45, 27 June 2009 (EDT)
Also item boxes from Mario Kart series make their debut on a Mario 3-D Adventure Game, only that with a different appearence. Also the winged ? Block appears MasterBlaster3000
The peaches from Super Mario world reappear, probably serving the purpose of awarding Mario one coin when eaten with Yoshi. Mariomaruf
Why not try shaking the remote while Yoshi is getting the peper? (also can eat with the B Button) Dεναnwøιf
Two things. The spinning mario kart like items boxes have at least one side with a red and black bowser face (like the ones in the red mushroom houses in the New Super Mario Bros Wii), a 1-up and gold coin. I guess you hit it and something randomly happens. Secondly, add crate to the list, there's one in the background whilst inflatable Yoshi is on the screen. The Last Stop
Release date
I found these release dates on my gamestop's games coming out when section and Super Mario galaxy 2 is 1/1/10. Can we put this on? And also NSMBwii is 11/2/09. So can we?
- That's just a placeholder they put into their database. January 1st sounds like a very unlikely day to release a new game. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:45, 12 July 2009 (EDT)
Ok. If the nsmbwii one is real, they'll most likely reveal it when BiS comes out.
Actually, Booderdash (that's fun to say! lol), your wrong! It's 2/1/10. Yeah I saw it the other day so. - [[User:brandman1996|Brandman 18:27, 30 December 2009 (EST)

Release Date?
Well, I got a little antsy about waiting to find out this game's release. So I checked a few websites. There is nothing on Nintendo.com, but on video game central.com it says the release is Febuary 10th 2010. This would Make sense becuase Miyamoto said that Nintendo is far along in development for this game. However, I have no idea if this is correct, and Feb. 10th sounds a bit random. What do you guys Think?Ratfink43
I don't think they'd lie about something like that. I think its true, but lets see other people's opinions on this. Can it be true? Fawfulfury65
Nintendo games in North America usually are released on Mondays and sometimes Sunday. If 10 Febuary 2010 is not on Monday or Sunday, it's most likely fake. In Japan and Australia, Nintendo games are released on Thuresday and in Europe on Friday. I hope this information might help. rend (talk) (edits)
- In Europe it's always a Friday, true. I don't think they are lying about a release date, but they just put in a filler into their database. Until we get official confirmation, we shouldn't put anything in the article. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:08, 2 December 2009 (EST)
On Nintendo.com, you can put the games list in release date order. SMG2 of course doesn't have an exact release date(TBA), but it is between the games, "Glory of Heracles", which will be released Jan. 18, and "Shiren the Wanderer", which will be released on Feb. 9. Since it is between those games in release date order(besides the other TBA games) it may be released somewhere Jan 18th - Feb 9th. It might. Fawfulfury65
- That is VERY unlikely considering nobody has ever played the game or seen it in action, so far we only had one trailer. There is no way they will release the game in Q1. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:44, 3 December 2009 (EST)
But also, I agree with Cobold, I think that it'll be released in Q2 (From Abril to July)--Mateo (Talk · Contributions) 15:27, 3 December 2009 (EST)

Recent Changes
Let me just say, there isn't much info on this game, so I watch this site very closely. I couldn't help but notice that there were changes made (They were changed back) Were they just being stupid, or have they seen something I haven't? They mentioned dolphins as characters, a cheep-cheep mushroom and that there would be 7 Power ups and 5 Fruits for Yoshi. So tell me, why did they make this up, or is some of it true?--The Last Stop
Bowser
Who put Bowser as one of the characters? He's not confirmed, and his statue might just be a cameo. Mr. Anon 23:43, 15 December 2009 (EST)
Bowser and Bowser Jr.'s Airships have been shown, therefore it's assumed that they will be characters. OhlawdsHunter
He won't not be in the game if we just remove him from the list. It's not a big deal, just add him when he's really confirmed. We're not here to make speculation, however accurate it may be. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:49, 16 December 2009 (EST)

Well, I personnally think that it's Rosalina, I think she's using an hologram to help Mario, since she can't be with him, so she still can be with him :) Sambiss
If rosalina was there, then where is the comet observatory and all that jazz?

- Miyamoto doesn't want to go further into the story. Supermariofan14
- Yes, it's exactly why, he wants to have a little story. Well, since she's in the game, shouldn't we put her on the list? :) Sambiss
- Okay, but I'm confused, if the cosmic witch is Rosalina, why would we need to create another article :/ I'm confused. Sambiss
Super Mario Galaxy 2 Galaxies

- Either a fan site that had bad info or he made them up himself. There's no real way someone could've of found the galaxy names before Nintendo has any info on it. IN seriousness, BowieZ, who's a YouTube user (and who's also known as BowieX on GameFAQs), composed some fan-made themes for this game. It was HIM that made up the names of the galaxies mentioned here. I'm guessing that what he called "Driftwood Galaxy" is what's now been revealed as "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" or possibly a part of "Tall Trunk Galaxy".

Dark Mario & Identical Planet
I Have a piece of important information. In the E3 trailer during the "Dark Marios" scene some dark marios are seen following and mimicing him, which may mean that they act like mario and copy him in moving, but some Dark Marios were jumping and running on their own so are they obstacles or enemies. And another thing is that another planet looks identical to the planet which the Luma transforms in Good Egg Galaxy. User:MarioMaster720 23.12.2009
okay, yeah i saw the planet article too now, but i wonder if that identical planet is a clue to that maybe the game will feature some galaxies or planets from Super Mario Galaxy. User:MarioMaster720 CHRISTMAS.2009
Bowser
Bowser is not yet confirmed to be in in the game. Why is he in the character list? Just becuase there is an Ice Sculpture and Airships doesent mean Bowser is confirmed. While his apperance is very likley, it is not confirmed. Supermariofan14 said if Bowser's airship is there then Bowser has to be there. The airships do not confirm Bowser's apperance becuase A new enemy might have taken Bowser's airships just like the Subspace stole Meta Knight's Halbred Ship in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Ah, who am I kidding. Nintendo very rarley makes new villians, and for major non-RPG games like this one they ALWAYS use Bowser. I say we leave Bowser there until it is confirmed he isint there.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ratfink43 (talk).
- It doesn't matter whether it's likely or not. It matters whether it's confirmed or not. And Bowser himself is not confirmed. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:37, 28 December 2009 (EST)
E3 Rewind theatre
Thought I might add that the E3 Rewind theate has a trailer that goes over more information. Just type in "Super Mario Galaxy 2 E3 Rewind Theater" on Youtube.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ratfink43 (talk).
- I think we already have the contents of the trailer represented in the article. If there's anything we've been missing, just add it. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:34, 28 December 2009 (EST)
Locked?
Why is the article locked? There is a tiny bit more information to add than what is there. As in the fact we don't know how big of a role yoshi play's or if you can even take him out of a level like New Super Mario Bros. Wii does. And all the planets in the video are not confirmed, and the fact that from the dark mario's... more of Super Mario 128 is coming into play, hence the multible playable Mario's. Well, could someone high-up please edit the info? Thanks, Brandman1996 :D 22:46, 31 December 2009 (EST)

Reused planets
It says in the article that it was wrongly assumed that Nintendo would reuse planets for Super Mario Galaxy 2. But, I remember from the trailer, There is a planet that Mario and Yoshi were on that looked exactly like the planet from the Good Egg Galaxy From the previous games.
- Yeah I noticed that a while back too. But it looks like it had a few minor adjustments and changes. Fawfulfury65
Bowser Block
In the trailer at the begining you can see a pinning block in the background that presumably drops differnt items. One side of the block appars to have the bowser symbol on it, so can we assume that he'll be in the game because of that?--LuigiBros64

- "The third quarter financial reports briefing has been posted online and it gives a hint as to what Nintendo has planned for the coming year. A majority of the report talks about sales figures and also has tons of different software and hardware charts, showcasing the Nintendo Wii, DS, and their competitors. Towards the end of the report there is a brief segment about upcoming software releases. In particular Metroid Other M has been revealed to have a Summer 2010 release date, Super Mario Galaxy 2 will launch later this year, and the Legend of Zelda will be shown off at this years E3.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, a Mario action title in 3D world, will be launched this year. And, we will show the new Zelda title for Wii at this year’s E3."

- Yup, like I said, third quarter. (Between July-September)--FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
- Just to clarify, that was Nintendo Australia. This doesn't mean it will be released later in the US or any other place. Oddly enough, major games like these are usually released alongside the US, PAL, and Japan regions really close to each other in dates. I hardly doubt it will be released in June/July, or September. However, August does seem legit so that E3 members can see Mario Galaxy 2 as a "what you see is what you get" type-of-thing. MechaWave (talk)

Well it could be as he might be in the galaxies along with mario as one of the few ones there. In my opinion, I cosnider that there is only a Yoshi here, and he changes colors by eating a power-up fruits, similar to what happened in Super Mario Sunshine. After some time under the fruit's powers, the colored Yoshi returns to his green color. ¢oincoll€ctor

This is the same, Green Yoshi. It's shoe colors don't even change, that's the easiest tip. I suggest we remove the information from the orange and light blue Yoshi's pages as it's not actually them. It's similar to how Yoshi could change colors in MPT. ForeverDaisy09 19:52, 1 March 2010 (EST)

- I wouldn't see the reason why Mario would just go out into the black Universe and having nothing to do. Bowser Jr. has been confirmed, so why would he just be there? To avenge his father? I don't think Bowser died in the original game. And since Bowser Jr. always wants to defeat Mario, then what would be the absolute point? I heard the story of SMG2 would be toned down (which I never saw any story in the original, except Rosalina's story), but that doesn't mean Mario can have nothing to do. Maybe Bowser kidnaps Peach as always, and you have to save her. Probably no bigger story than that. MechaWave (talk)
Yeah, but nothing is been confirmedCount Bonsula I need blood...
- Bowser was clearly seen recovering at the end of SMG1, for your information. It doesn't really make sense to speculate here - from any logical point of view, of course Bowser is in this game. But we're not here to make assumptions, as accurate as they may be, we're writing the article only about what's confirmed. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:53, 28 February 2010 (EST)
- Well, the background is the same as the "Bowser Galaxy" backgrounds in the first game, and the red head seems to be one of his known "decorations". However, it's still possible that it's a cameo, although he has a very high chance of returning since Bowser Jr. does. --King Bean (talk ~ contribs) 20:45, 1 March 2010 (EST)

a small question anyway
the mario galaxy 2 game looks better than the 1st one, an I still enjoy playing all the old mario games back in the day from super mario bros. super mario bros. 2(japanese version) an usa mario 2, mario world an mario 3 were good games too.
The japan mario 2 known as the lost levels that were 1st rereleased in mario all stars game 1993, anyway japan mario 2 is a hard game an frustating too but it's takes time an it's not impossible too finish the whole game from 1-1 to 8-4 an finish the game 8 times without reseting can unlock a-1 to d-4.
Anyway I'm looking forward for mario galaxy 2, an also bout the characters in the game is the bob-omb an pokeys are gonna appear in that game because they appeared in about every game sense usa mario 2. Expect mario 3 didn't had the pokey character in it.
An the only game that I thought sucked was mario sunshine an I was surprised when mario galaxy 1 came out in 2007 an it turned out too be a big improvment compare to sunshine.

Nintendo Power - April 2010 Issue
So, NP had an article on SMG2 in their latest issue, and revealed a couple of things. So I thought I'd list them here before I start editing, just so that people don't think I'm just jumping to conclusions:
- Bowser returns to kidnap Peach once again. Same old, same old. Just thought I'd let you know he really is behind all of it again. Not like nobody expected it, but he just wasn't confirmed to appear.
- Name changes: Gobblegut is actually Gobbleguts. Mallettoid has a full title of the Mighty Mallettoid. Digg-Legg is actually Digga-Legg. The "new version of the Dino Piranha," is the Peewee Piranha, which apparently has a pink/red weak spot on its backside that Mario has to hit a total of six times to win, with the Peewee Piranha getting powered-up halfway through the fight via rage, much like the Dino Piranha before it.
- Yoshi can eat a fruit called a Bulb Berry to glow, which, judging by the art in the magazine, not only turns him a bright, glowing yellow, but seems to have the effect of nullifying the effects of dark matter, so that Mario and Yoshi can walk on platforms that have been made non-existent by it.
- There will be no hub, like the Comet Observatory. Instead, Mario will simply select galaxies from a screen, much like New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Either that, or Nintendo Power only got to see/play a demo that didn't have the hub world for spoiler reasons.(He actually can access a mini-hub, the planetoid ship known as Starship Mario.) - "Comet Metals," are, in fact, called "Comet Medals." Thought I'd clarify that. I don't know who it was who thought that the misspelling of "Medal" as "Metal" wasn't a misspelling, but it was.
I think that's all the major things to change, so I'll get to work. Teamrocketspy621 17:25, 30 March 2010 (EDT)

- 'Scuse me, Reversinator, what do you mean by "proof?" I have the issue itself as reference, what more do you want? Quotes? A scan? Teamrocketspy621 17:43, 30 March 2010 (EDT)
- *coughcough cough* Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Oops, my mistake. I figured since it was still March when I got it, it was the April issue. It is, in fact, the May issue, plastered with SMG2's boxart on the front.
But it looks like someone's already added a section with the scans, so I'll just try to forget that I ever committed this idiocy without first scanning the article. My bad, I'll let everyone else take care of it.Oh, geez, double fail. Those are actually Famitsu scans, not NP scans. Maybe I ought to scan NP after all. Well, then again, it seems like IGN covers almost everything that I mentioned above in their new article and gameplay video. I'm making a fool of myself here. What do I do? Platitudinous (talk) What reason do we have not to trust this guy? (Bowser fail!)
The last three are correct. Wayoshi even uploaded a video on the glimmer bulb berry, the starship mario, and etc. The first two, you need more proof. Bowser is unlikely in Super Mario Galaxy 2. KS3 (talk · contribute)
- What do you mean "unlikely?" It's a main series Mario platformer; those games rarely leave Bowser out (even in Sunshine, which had a plot twist that revealed the new villain, Shadow Mario, to really just be Bowser Jr.). And isn't the fact that I mentioned the Bulb Berry a day before it was actually revealed on IGN and in the new trailer proof that I wouldn't be lying about what NP said the story was? I mean, details like these are just too small for someone to lie about. I mean, if I was really gung-ho about lying, I'd have come on to the site saying something stupid like "ZOMG GAIZ BOWZER IZ BAK ADN HE TEEMZ UP WIHT TATANGA CUZ TATANGAZ AN ALEIN ADN ROSALINA DIEZ AT THE END TO SAEV MARIO FORM BOWZER ZOMG I'M TTLY NOT LYING GAIZ," instead of wording what I read in NP in a calm, organized manner. This just isn't the kind of stuff you can make up. But... if scans for such a minor story detail are really that necessary, I'd be glad to oblige. Teamrocketspy621 16:42, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- What about Super Mario Bros. 2 (the one that the americans created because they don't like the other one?? That one has Wart as the boss, not Bowser. KS3 (talk · contribute)
- I was gonna mention that game, but I used too many words and just took that section out of my little rant. Anyway, Super Mario Bros. 2 was not a completely American-original Mario game; it was a localization and Mario-ized version of a completely unrelated game, Doki Doki Panic, which, of course, not originally being part of the Mario series, would not have Bowser in it. They could've just as easily replaced Wart with Bowser, but they chose not to. Regardless, the game was not made as a Mario game with the idea of purposely not including Bowser. To put it simply, SMB, Japanese SMB2 (a.k.a. Lost Levels in America), SMB3, SMW, SM64, SMS, NSMB, SMG, and NSMBW, all the main series Mario games, had Bowser as the one and only villain. I rest my case and will scan the proof of his age-old role in the story, if necessary, to drive the point home. Teamrocketspy621 12:38, 3 April 2010 (EDT)

- So this might imply that Bowser appears and kidnap Peach, and that's it. (AKA he only makes a cameo) When does the May one come out, I don't know, but this is April, not May. KS3 (talk · contribute)
- I don't know how I got the May issue when it was still March, but I've had it for a few weeks now. Just say the word and I'll provide scans. I've been asking people to do that, but nobody's said they're necessary yet. ^^' Teamrocketspy621 15:13, 16 April 2010 (EDT)

I'm 75% sure that thing is a boss. Its huge, it has a big red button, its the only thing on its planet, and there is a few coins in crystals. Well, Famitsū did another SMG2 article, and this one outlines the beginning of the plot. I took a crack at translating it. I'd appreciate it if somebody better versed in the language looked over this before we start editing this info into the article. I'm not confident that this is 100% accurate. And although Bowser was giant for no reasons in SMS, he came back to normal in the ending. In NSMBW, Bowser's size differs 3 times in the game: his normal size (1st battle), his giant size (2nd battle, Kamek's magic) and a bizarre size where he's bigger (ending, Kamek's magic after-effect ?). When they had a reason to change his size in the ending of SMS (so that Bowser looks normal next to Jr.), they didn't had any in the ending of NSMBW. Except if they plan to use that later... The translations are for the most part very accurate. I might say "Shooting stars" rather than "Falling stars", but that's something trivial. As for the character that you couldn't figure out, it's "踊", which means to dance. - Everyone disapared in the black hole in the end of SMG. Then the black hole collapsed because of the Lumas (remember: Lumas are stars) and exploded, making a "new Big Bang" in a way, and recreating everything as it was right before the Star Festival (with the exception of the galaxies Mario went through, that became a whole Galaxy). Rosalina may not appear because... there's no role for her ? The new "character that helps Mario and that Mario helps" is Luba. The official artwork's all we've got for the time being. Apparently, it was snagged by a magazine somewhere and they put it up on their site or something. - Yeah, anyways, I just checked the NoA site for SMG2 and it's still stated as Comet Metals. We could wait another month for the game's release or for some more leaked info. --FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
Better quality Dash Yoshi artwork?
Is it possible to get a Dash Yoshi artwork of better quality like the other two with the black background and all? I understand this and the others have come from scans, but is it possible to better this one up like the others? BooDestroyer 19:03, 18 April 2010 (EDT)
- I'm sure one can get if off of this scan: [10]
Cosmic Witch?
Hummm....excuse me, but...are you SURE that it,s not Rosalina? I think we should wait the game's release before saying anything on that and where did this was confirmed? Thanks, Sambiss
- In NOA called that female-shaped thing "Cosmic Witch", but japanese info about it is not available, so by now, consider Cosmic Witch and Rosie as separate beings.
- Okay :D I'm pretty sure it's Rosalina, but we'll do as you said until anything is confirmed. Sambiss
- Well, just because it takes the form of Rosalina doesn't mean it is Rosalina. That's like saying that because Shadow Mario and Cosmic Mario/Cosmic Luigi take the shape of Mario means that they are Mario (or Luigi). Just like Cosmic Mario and Cosmic Luigi, the Cosmic Witch is just a Cosmic copy of Rosalina. Teamrocketspy621 22:19, 25 April 2010 (EDT)
World - Galaxy List?
When more of the Galaxies are revealed, and in which World they appear in, should they be listed within each World as most other games are?
For example, if the people who have edited the articles on the galaxies with the Worlds are correct, should it be listed like this? (these are not necessarily in order):
World 1:
World 2:
World 3:
The other galaxies have not had their Worlds' revealed yet, obviously.--TheUltimateKoopa 08:58, 25 April 2010 (EDT)
- The only ones that I know are confirmed for their worlds is Sky Station, Spin-Dig, Fluffy Bluff, Tall Trunk, and Cloudy Court. The rest are what people made up, but the ones I mentioned are confirmed and are in their right world as you mentioned them. --FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
- The ones I listed that you didn't mention, I got those from the screenshots. If you look at that screenshot of World 2, you can see a small round galaxy which appears to have 2 waterfalls on the top, which I was thinking could be Cosmic Cove Galaxy, and those waterfalls could be the ones mentioned in Twin Falls Hideaway, for example.

- Curiously, the galaxies you listed are among the ony ones known. User:Supermairofan14/sig

Comet MeDal
I thought that it was a typo errors. WHere is the "sic" in the article next to the link called Comet Metal? KS3 (talk · contribute) 17:22, 29 April 2010 (EDT)
- I think it's spelt that way in Nintendo.com. And obviously it's confirmed. Mario JC
- you spelled spelled wrong. and The item is confirmed, I don't know if the name is confirmed. KS3 (talk · contribute)
- Its spelled as Comet Metals on Nintendo's official website. End of story. Fawfulfury65
- I just found out that it is a typo error. Gamefreak redirected the article to Comet Medal saying that an English website had Medals in it, not Metals.
