Bleak Magic is the boss level of Primate Plains, the second world of Donkey Kong Land III. It involves a boss fight against Bleak. The level's name is a pun on black magic.
Layout[edit]
The fight takes place in a snowfield that has a cabin on the right that Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong can stand on. Meanwhile, Bleak stays put on the left side. Bleak attacks by launching snowballs out of his hat in an arc. After he fires a few snowballs, a barrel will appear on top of the cabin and Bleak will start hopping in place. The barrel must be thrown at Bleak's chest to damage him. After taking damage, Bleak will fire three snowballs in quick succession before resuming his normal attack pattern. The more damage Bleak has taken, the longer it takes for the barrel to spawn, and his snowballs also fire more quickly. He takes four hits to go down and drops a Bonus Coin when defeated.
