In the remake, they are distinguished as '''Elevator Key (Blue)''' and '''Elevator Key (Red)'''. The first key is obtained by solving a puzzle where Mario must only step on the platforms that light up to get to the other side and to collect the key. This key is used to access the elevator, and the player can now go to sublevel 1 and 2. The second Elevator Key is guarded by a robotic [[Thwomp]]. Mario gets it after completing the [[66th Trivia Quiz-Off]]. It allows access to sublevels 3 and 4.
