First appearance Yoshi's Story (1997)
Effect Lets a Yoshi glide

Bumber 'Chutes are blue-and-white umbrellas in Yoshi's Story. Their name is a pun on "bumbershoot." Yoshis usually get the opportunity to obtain them when atop a large cliff. The umbrellas allow them to glide, thus also allowing them to collect floating coins and fruit. The player uses the Control Stick to control the direction a Bumber 'Chute falls. When a Yoshi reaches the bottom of the cliff and enters a door or pipe, the umbrella is dropped.
