World 8 is the eighth and final world of Super Mario Bros. In World 8, three ground levels are traversed, as well as the final castle level, which has an underwater section. World 8 is the only world in Super Mario Bros. without any checkpoints; the player is sent back to the start of the level if defeated.

SMAS SMB World 8-3 Title Card.png World 8-3 The third level of World 8, consisting of an army of Hammer Brothers.
Preview for final castles from the Super Mario All-Stars versions of Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. World 8-4 The final level of World 8, and the final level of the game. The player has to go through several rooms in order to reach Bowser and save Princess Toadstool.
