<< Directory of levels >> |
Fluff-Puff Peaks Flying Battleship is a level in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, found in Fluff-Puff Peaks. It is an Airship that is summoned by Kamek to hinder the players' progress in the world. Up 'n' Down with Puffy Lifts must be completed to allow access to this level. This level has one Wonder Seed, and the difficulty is three stars.
Layout
The player starts at the front of the battleship, and must make it to the back of it. The level is mostly autoscrolling, so they must keep up to avoid falling behind. Along the way to the first checkpoint flag are pipes that have multicolored firework enemies that walk around. If they are attacked, they will fire three separate fireworks above them that can break blocks and cause coins to fall. Some of these enemies are roaming around without appearing from pipes. There are many crates that be destroyed by ground-pounding them or by using the firework enemies. Additionally, a few Bill Blasters that fire Bullet Bills act as obstacles along the way.
After the first checkpoint are more of the above, along with a Wonder Flower protected by blocks. By using a firework enemy, the player can obtain the Wonder Flower, activating its Wonder Effect. This Wonder Effect summons a floating Bowser structure resembling the front of the battleship that will charge up and fire explosive shots at the players. A cursor signals where the Bowser structure will fire, following the players and stopping when about to fire. These explosions can destroy blocks as well as Bowser Blocks. Right before the second checkpoint is the Wonder Seed; upon collecting it the Bowser structure will vanish.
After the third checkpoint are two platforms on wheels that have a single cannon each on them. These cannons fire Bob-ombs. Close to each platform is a Shova that will try to push these platforms. At the back of the battleship is a pipe that will lead to the player inside the battleship.
Inside the battleship is a mechanical Bowser that has Bob-ombs and Bowser Blocks along a Conveyor Belt. Two cylinders above the Conveyor Belt can smash down, potentially crushing the players. To defeat this mechanical Bowser, the players must reach to on top of it and press a switch, causing the Conveyor Belt to malfunction and go in reverse, causing Bowser Blocks to smash into the mechanical Bowser. This in turn will create many explosions and then destroy the battleship, where it falls onto the clouds. The players successfully escape by using a Propeller Flower.
