(While "-tachi" can be used as a pluralizing suffix, given "Dread Kong" is an individual, I believe it's supposed to be the other usage of the term. For instance, the main Mario cast is referred to as "Mario-tachi", which is closer to "Mario and friends" rather than "the Marios")

The Kongs are a group of evil martial artist bosses who appear as antagonists in Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. Unlike the game's other groupings of four bosses, the four main Kongs are not simply texture swaps of each other, but have unique designs to go thematically with their fighting styles. The Ninjapes seem to be their minions, as they guard the strongholds of Ninja Kong and the Ghastly King. After the Ghastly King is defeated, the remainder (including the Ninjapes in the reissue) appear at the ceremony to honor Donkey Kong's victory.
