Trivia
- When the player matches two Bowser or Bowser Jr. panels, the small tune from Super Mario 64 when trying to open a door in the castle without enough Power Stars or a key is heard.
- If the player gets a perfect score, the fanfare when returning to the castle after obtaining a Power Star also from Super Mario 64 is heard.
- This minigame is similar to the N-Mark Spade Panel from Super Mario Bros. 3.
- If this minigame is played with two or more players, it is possible to steal another player's turn by ground-pounding on them during their turn.
