A Turnip being fired from the cannon

To use the Turnip Cannons, the player must first pull a blue handle, which spawns the Turnip Cannon (and causes Captain Toad or Toadette to enter it). Then, the player can use the Wii U GamePad GamePad gyroscope to aim it and press A Button to fire Turnips at enemies, coins, Super Gems, and Rock Blocks. In the Nintendo Switch version, the player presses R Button on a docked Nintendo Switch, or touch controls in handheld mode. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the player uses touch controls.
