Not to be confused with Tweester or Tornado.

Template:Species-infobox Template:Quote2 Twisters are wind-producing entities in Super Mario Maker 2. They are small white spheres with eyes, and in the game's 2D styles, they have small hair-like protrusions around their bodies.

History

Super Mario Maker 2

Twisters debut in Super Mario Maker 2 as course elements in the gizmo category. They hover along the ground and spin around, producing a large tornado above them that can lift both the player and enemies. They can be pushed around by solid objects, such as Munchers or Hard Blocks moving on tracks, and fall off-screen when crushed between two surfaces.

In some early trailer footage, they had a cloudy appearance resembling a Foo with elements of Ty-foo's design, but were redesigned. This resemblance was closer in the New Super Mario Bros. U style, where they lacked the blue cheeks, and had pink lips. This design seems to have been entirely overwritten, as it is not present in the final game's data.[1]

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

Twisters later reappear in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit as obstacles in Tornado Tundra and in the Blizzard environment, where they slow down racers that make contact with them.
