:::::Gives people long enough to realize they're supposed to be here for helping with information, not gaining publicity within the community. We've had a few users recently ask how to make their userpace immediately after joining (see [[MarioWiki talk:FAQ]]). I suppose a week is a bit too long right now with our current moderation team, but that'd be something Porplemontage handles. It's also not just a userpage prevention measure, it applies to all page creations. Bots and vandals will continue to try to make pages even after the autoconfirm day limit has passed, but won't be able to because they either a) haven't reached the edit limit or b) are blocked before they get the chance. I get people don't like waiting, but that's kind of the point here. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 23:50, March 18, 2021 (EDT) |

== What about user subpages? == Subpages are never allowed without permission from an [[MarioWiki:Administrators|Administrator]].
...Is this outdated info? Archives count as sub-pages and I planned to add coding for a new user page style on subpages so I can call the content using a template ({{User:Wayoshi/Subpage}}) so the user page text looks nice and clean. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 17:56, 1 October 2006 (EDT)
User Pages auto-protected?
Other users may edit pages in your user space.
This information seems to be out of date. No user can edit another user's main user page. They're protected. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 06:22, 4 June 2007 (EDT)
Hey Steve
You should unprotect this so I can update it a bit.SaudyTalk!

why don't video games count as works of fiction?
Subpages?
Can I create a subpage with a bunch of trivia questions?Magic Koopa Guy (talk) 18:20, 25 February 2013 (EST)
Thanks
Oh, that's why i can't create my own userpage xD thanks for the help. --Zzzleepy (talk) 16:12, 23 April 2013 (EDT)
Um...
Is it part of the rules to say this kind of language on someone's talk page? User_talk:MeritC#Mona_infobox_image It sorta disturbs me a little bit....
- We do have a rule about vulgar and blatantly inappropriate language, but this isn't the case here. It varies with people's sensitivity, and such discussion between friends shouldn't be intervened like this. Though, if it really does bother you then I'll happy to change what I said.
Shouldn't the "userpage" be "user page"?
That's how it's formatted on the tabs on the top of a page. Alternatively, change that into one word. PikaSamus (talk) 13:46, 12 May 2014 (EDT)
Userspace Redirect
Are redirects to certain subpages allowed? I'm planning on creating two redirects to my sig. User:Fawful's Minion/Signature and User:Fawful's Minion/Sig. I saw Marioguy1 do this and I was wondering if this still applies now. (talk) (edits) 18:52, 26 August 2016 (EDT)
- Why would you need a redirect to your signature? As long as you enter your "sig" subpage correctly in your preferences (which you appear to have done so), no other page link is necessary. MarioWiki:Signature says that your signature subpage "must be /sig, and just one subpage".
- The only redirects permitted to your subpages are those which are created when your username is changed, and when you move one of your subpages to a different title (such as an article draft page). In both cases, a redirect is left behind automatically. I would not encourage manually creating various redirects for your personal convenience.
Shortcuts
I added MW:US as a shortcut (because Userspace), but the page is protected. Can an admin add the shortcut to the page? -YFJ (talk · edits) 12:17, 26 November 2017 (EST)
Question
Do we have the right to add thing that annoy us in the wiki? I can't ask for permission to Owencrazyboy9, since he's blocked, so i ask here. -- FanOfYoshi 02:27, September 23, 2019 (EDT)
- As long as you're not calling out or making fun of any specific users, I don't have a problem with it. 09:57, September 23, 2019 (EDT)
User Rules
A new user has to be a member of the wiki for at least one week and make at least ten edits before they can create pages, including their own user page.

IDK Seems a little harsh to me but maybe it's because on Pikipedia I only had to wait 24 hours to create my Userpage

- That rule was implemented to curb vandalism and people who register on MarioWiki only to self-promote themselves than contribute to the wiki. Ray Trace(T|C) 19:24, March 18, 2021 (EDT)
- One week does seem a bit long. I think 3 days might suffice for a waiting period for creating pages. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:39, March 18, 2021 (EDT)
