:I have the item probabilities of ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'' but never found the time to properly map them due to the official Japanese guide apparently not following the in-game order, unlike in ''Mario Kart 8'' (the English one didn't even report the symbolic probability), ''Super Mario Kart'', ''Mario Kart 64'' and ''Mario Kart: Super Circuit'' do not have a file system, so it's not really possible to find the probability file. In any case, an analysis of ''Mario Kart 64'' revealed that the game doesn't have probability tables at all, they rather create a sequence of 100 numbers of which one is chosen, the chosen number indicates the item received. The modern probability tables were first seen in ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!''.--[[User:Mister Wu|Mister Wu]] ([[User talk:Mister Wu|talk]]) 16:06, November 14, 2020 (EST) | :I have the item probabilities of ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'' but never found the time to properly map them due to the official Japanese guide apparently not following the in-game order, unlike in ''Mario Kart 8'' (the English one didn't even report the symbolic probability), ''Super Mario Kart'', ''Mario Kart 64'' and ''Mario Kart: Super Circuit'' do not have a file system, so it's not really possible to find the probability file. For every other Mario Kart page on this wiki, there is an entire section dedicated to the game's courses. Is there a reason that the page for Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the only one to have its courses listed under the Grand Prix section? |

Action replay
Is it okay to mention the action Replay unrestricted Karts thing? Thats what I use all the time (Wario and King Boo in the Bullet Blaster)and am wondering if it was okay for the article. -- WarioLoaf (talk) 21:08, 15 October 2007 (EDT)
No, because action replay is a tool that alters a game. It's a bit different for SSBM since it reveals beta data though.Knife (talk) 23:31, 8 December 2007 (EST)
Alright then, let's get rid of it. User:Imperialscouts
Shortcuts in Yoshi Circuit
I noticed on the page for Yoshi Circuit that it said there were two shortcuts in the course, one of which was removed in Mario Kart DS. I found the one that was kept, but could anyone confirm and point me to where I might find the one only in MKDD? If anyone has an answer, I'd appreciate it if you could leave it on my talk page. Battles
Shouldn't Balloon Battle, Shine Thief, and Bob-omb Blast have their own articles? NMRodo
That would make sense... InfectedShroom.
Okay, well something this minor shouldn't have to go through a proposal, so I'll get started right now. NMRodo
Colon to Dash
Why is there a colon in the title?
- There's no colon in the game logo.
- There's two dashes. Maybe we should switch them around?
- I'm pretty sure they're just racing stripes. Unless the Japanese version with three uses the Greek letter Xi (Ξ) or something. The article here is titled the way Nintendo lists it in support documents as well as Fiscal 2004 (PDF), see "Revenue and Expenses", page 36. --Turkishcoffee 02:37, 4 April 2010 (EDT)
Trivia
- The two Exclamation marks in the title(!!) are part of the name "Double" Dash.
- The "Congratulations!!" screen, shown when players receive a trophy, also has two exclamation marks.
Are these two really notworthy

King Boo & Petey Piranha
- Wouldn't you say this game hints that Petey and King Boo have a realationship? Mario freak
- No. Hinting both characters have some relationship with the other is sheer speculation.
- But they are on a racing team together and in Superstar Baseball they have good chemistry(and Super sluggers). Also in Superstar Baseball they are both on the Wario Greats Mario freak
Hey, I would say that you are right because there's a Boo Pipe and a Pirahna Pipe on Mario Kart Double Dash!! plus, what Coincollector is saying is right: I would overall say.... YES, they do have SOME sort of relation!

Look what's in the boxart...
I don't think that anyone actually noticed this, but Luigi's L in the boxart is backwards! But the boxart doesn't depict Mirror Mode because the DK on the DK Jumbo is not reversed. Is this mistake good enough to be placed on a trivia or is it too minor?
BTW, the reversed L is not in the Japanese boxart.
I dont see why not. -Rosalina1234
Golden Mushroom Reference
In the References in Later Games section, it states that the Golden Mushroom and the Bob omb were special items in this game and were used as regular items in later game. I think the Golden Mushroom should be taken out, as the Golden Mushroom's Mario Kart debut was Mario Kart 64.

Rattle Buggy stats
The Rattle Buggy article says that it is faster than the other karts the game rates with 2-star speeds. But how does that make sense if the Actual Stats section of this page says the Rattle Buggy has a 1 out of 9 internal speed rating, and that all the rest of the 2-star-speed karts have either 2, 3, or 4 Top Speed internally? Furthermore, it's weird the chart says that the Goo-Goo Buggy is the exact same in all areas except higher speed, making it technically completely superior. 50.152.154.193 00:15, 13 December 2013 (EST)
- Well, this is mostly Nintendo's fault. The stars shown in the game are inaccurate compared to tests done[1]. By the way, I'll fix what is said in that article. Ray Trace(T|C) 00:58, 13 December 2013 (EST)
Staff Ghosts
Since the pages of Mario Kart DS, Wii, 7 and 8 also have a table with Staff Ghost information for each course, I'd say we add one to this page, too. I found a list with the times and unlock times of each Staff Ghost, as well as a table showing the characters and karts for each course. Shall I make them into a table and add it to the article?

European (PAL) Max Speed Stats
A few years ago with the italian version of MKDD I measured the maximum speed pertaining to each tier both in plains (e.g. Baby Park) and downhill (almost every track that is not perfectly a plain, including Luigi Circuit) and I remember I found these values:
Speed Tier | Max Speed (plain) km/h |
Max Speed (downhill) km/h |
---|---|---|
1 | 78 | 79 |
2 | 78 | 80 |
3 | 79 | 80 |
4 | 79 | 81 |
5 | 80 | 82 |
6 | 81 | 82 |
7 | 81 | 83 |
8 | 82 | 83 |
9 | 82 | 84 |
Can someone confirm this data? I'm not sure especially about tier 6 and 8. Also, keep in mind that these values are obtained without mushroom nor Mini-Turbo, this is probably why they are much lower than the ones in the actual table.
Mister Wu (talk) 16:51, 21 October 2014 (EDT)
- Ok, now that the in-game data have been transcribed and published, this table is not needed anymore. Well, at least it seems that I got the plain max speed values right...--Mister Wu (talk) 10:57, 2 November 2015 (EST)
Yoshi Circuit banner reveals a coincidence!
At the very beginning of Yoshi Circuit, there is a banner that spells "YOSHI". Nothing special about this. Until you play it in Mirror Mode. Then, the banner spells "IHSOY" (in capitals). In Ancient and Modern Greek this translates directly to "Oh Jesus" (Vocative). If the word wasn't in capitals, the coincidence wouldn't have been obvious. Gomess 512 (talk) 20:14, 13 December 2015 (EST)
- Unfortunately it's not intentional, nor is it a meaningful coincidence (say IHSOY means dinosaur, then that would be very interesting), so it's not necessary to add to the article. MarioComix (talk) 00:01, 14 December 2015 (EST)
- Of course it is not intentional and of course it is not related to the game in any way. I didn't mention it to be added in the main page, but only in the "talk" sector. That's why I labeled it "coincidence" and not "trivia". The coincidence was there since "Super Mario World", and I hadn't notice ; it's the way it was revealed (capitals plus mirror) that got me by surprise. That's why I mentioned it here, and not in the "Yoshi" page. Gomess 512 (talk) 06:15, 15 December 2015 (EST)
Green Fire Kart - Lightweight or Middleweight
I saw that some IP change the Kart's weight from Medium to Light and revert it, but after I saw the template and the article itself refer this Kart to a lightweight, I'm became confuse, so does this Kart is a light or medium weight?--(TALK) 21:59, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
Middleweight! The page states it! AfternoonLight (talk) 22:46, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
- It's Luigi's Kart, so it is a medium-sized kart.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:57, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
- Yeah, that was what I was going to write. It would be weird that Luigi's Kart could not be drive by him. So, Its IP that change valid information to false. Thanks! :) --(TALK) 23:00, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
- IP just has a bad history in general. Late, but just a heads-up. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 00:21, 23 April 2016 (EDT)

Connected Courses
Would it be worth mentioning (maybe under the trivia section) about how many (if not all) of the courses are connected in some way? Kan Kan Mikan~ (talk) 12:11, 2 February 2019 (EST)
LAN mode not working on Wii
Would like to add info that LAN mode is not available if you play Mario Kart: Double Dash!! on Wii as altough Wii can play GameCube games it disables ethernet port when Wii enters GameCube mode.
I think this should be added as I know many have wondered can they connect Wiis with other Wiis or GameCubes to play the LAN mode and it is not common knowledge and info is bit hard to find.

Item Probabilities
Does anyone have the item probabilities for this game, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, and Mario Kart: Super Circuit? (and no, the letter probabilities for the first two don't count.) It would be nice if someone transcribed them. --RoyKoopa510 (talk) 19:11, November 13, 2020 (EST)
