Template:Levelbox Ground Pound Rebound is the seventh level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island. It features posts that can be pounded into the ground to reveal secrets or make certain areas accessible. A later segment of the level introduces pipes that exhale clouds of smoke, which float upwards for a while and can be used as platforms.

Overview

Red Yoshi starts in an area with many posts and platforms populated by Stilt Guys and Eggo-Dils. At one point, there is a pipe that leads into an area with Yoshi Stars, which grant Red Yoshi the ability to run up walls and ceilings; as he makes it past a series of surfaces, he grabs a Red Yoshi Star that helps him zoom over a lake of poison, destroying blocks and pipes with Piranha Plants on the way. At the end of this segment, there is a pipe that warps him to a Checkpoint Ring and an Egg Block. This area contains pipes that emit smokey platforms, as well as more Stilt Guys and Eggo-Dils, followed by the Goal Ring.

Smiley Flowers

  • Smiley Flower 1: The first Smiley Flower is found in an area entered by going down the third pipe from the level's first Eggo-Dil. Here, Red Yoshi must push a incoming Stilt Guy down a platform in order to reach the flower.
  • Smiley Flower 2: The second Smiley Flower is found shortly afterwards. Red Yoshi must pound two tall posts into the ground to remove them and get access to the Smiley Flower while avoiding an Eggo-Dil.
  • Smiley Flower 3: The third Smiley Flower floats between two walls of blocks in the area with Yoshi Stars. Red Yoshi must fall onto it off a ceiling to collect it.
  • Smiley Flower 4: The fourth Smiley Flower is located in a hidden area past the Checkpoint Ring. Red Yoshi must climb the ledge near the first smoke-emitting pipe and ground pound into some soft rock on the ground to access the area with the Smiley Flower.
  • Smiley Flower 5: The fifth Smiley Flower can be seen under a platform after Red Yoshi passes by several pipes, Stilt Guys and an Eggo-Dil. He must fall into a gap right after the flower (before a pipe) and follow a trail of coins into a hidden area, where he can jump to grab the Smiley Flower.
