DS version
Amy
Amy Rose's first mission in the DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is Javelin Throw. To win this mission, Amy must throw the javelin very hard so that the javelin lands in a length in between seventy and eighty-five meters and she only has one try to do it.

Blaze
Blaze the Cat's second mission in the DS version is Javelin throw. To win this mission Blaze must throw the Javelin three times but she has to throw it further than the last time each time. She must throw it softly the first time, regularly the second time and finally throw it as hard as she can the third time.

Shadow
Shadow the Hedgehog's second mission in the DS version is Javelin Throw. If Shadow wants to win this mission, he must throw the Javelin as far as possible because the goal of this mission is to throw the Javelin three times for a total of 220 meters or more. This means a total of around 73 meters every time should do it.

Dr. Eggman
To win this mission, Dr. Eggman's fourth, Dr. Eggman must perform a "great" throw. Eggman must run as fast as he can and then throw the javelin as far as he can possibly throw it with exactly the right angle in order to get a  great throw.

Wii version
Knuckles
Knuckles the Echidna's first mission in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is Javelin Throw. He has three tries to throw the javelin a specified distance. The specified distance for this event is anywhere between forty and fifty meters. Any more or less and he will lose the challenge.

Bowser
Bowser's second mission in the Wii version is the same as Knuckles first mission in the Wii version but there is a small difference. The difference is that instead of throwing the javelin to hit a space with a difference of ten, Bowser will be throwing to get a difference of simply five. The five that he has to get the difference of are from fifty to fifty-five.

Wario
Wario's fourth mission in the Wii version is Javelin Throw. To win it Wario must run down the runway and throw the javelin just like normal but he must do it from the foul line or just before the foul line. Wario has two tries to complete his objective.

Daisy
Princess Daisy's first mission in the Wii version is just like Wario's fourth mission. She has to throw the javelin from very near to the runway the only difference being that instead of two tries, Daisy only gets one try to throw the javelin and if she fails, she fails.

Waluigi
Waluigi's first mission in the Wii version is an easier version of Bowser's second mission. To win it Waluigi must throw the javelin a specified distance of anywhere from thirty to fifty meters within his limit of three tries. It is a very easy mission to accomplish.
