Pirate Gooms[1] are a type of Wanderin' Goom that appear in the first two Wario Land games. They are darker than their ordinary counterparts, have small hands and originally held a spear. They typically pace back and forth and do not fall off unless pushed or thrown. Their spears are pointed forward, so Wario must avoid hitting them from the front.

In Wario Land II, three nameless Pirate Gooms are introduced as Captain Syrup's sidekicks that steal the treasure of Wario Castle. They also received a change in appearance: they now wear striped bandannas, they have lighter color, and they now wield tridents. The giant spear man, an abnormally large Pirate Goom, is fought several times and serves as the game's "really final" boss.

Pirate Gooms make a cameo in WarioWare: Smooth Moves as part of the Wario Land microgame. The player needed to grab one and hurl it at an enemy by using the Wii Remote.

An enemy type in Wario Land: Shake It!, Pitchfork, is comparable to the Pirate Goom as a spherical enemy pirate armed with a three pronged weapon.
