A Paratroopea is a winged Troopea that appears in the Beanbean Kingdom in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They resemble Paratroopas, only they are four-footed and have sprouts on the tops of their heads. Paratroopeas are sometimes assisted by Bob-ombs, and in turn, Paratroopeas occasionally appear alongside Tanoombas in battle. Their main attack consists in swooping down at Mario or Luigi, but the plumbers can easily dodge it by watching the Paratroopea's shadow on the floor and jumping. If the Paratroopea dips a little before flying into the sky, it will target Luigi. If not, its target will be Mario. Paratroopeas are able to heal all other enemies in battle by creating water droplets that land on their injured allies. When Paratroopeas take enough damage, they will lose their wings and become regular Troopeas.

A stronger version of Paratroopeas appear when the Bros. progress further Joke's End; they are called Scaratroopea and have orange shells.
