Template:Minigame-infobox Booksquirm is a four-player minigame in Mario Party 4. Its name is a pun on the word "bookworm", a term used to describe a person who reads a lot of books.
Introduction
A book is shown opening, then the four players jump onto the page.
Gameplay
Pages of the book will begin to turn (fall), so the players must find holes in the pages to avoid being flattened. More than one player can share a hole. As time goes on, the pages will turn much faster, and the number of holes in each page will decrease. This process continues until one character is left standing. If the last players remaining get flattened at the same time, the game is a draw.
There is also an unlockable version of Booksquirm, called Challenge Booksquirm, which can be earned by playing the original Booksquirm in a party, and can then be selected in the Extra Room. It challenges players to see how many pages they can last until their character is squashed. If the player manages to surpass 15 pages, a Goomba Plate is placed in the Minigame Room.
The player can also win at Challenge Booksquirm by managing to pass through 99 pages.
