*The Pipe Room and the [[Washroom (1F)|first floor Washroom]] are quite possibly the only necessary rooms in the game which are never required to be lit up (unless of course the player is trying to catch all fifty [[Boo]]s), as Luigi can completely ignore the Grabbing Ghosts, freely freeze the river of water and turn the waterfall off to obtain the key to the next room.

The Pipe Room is a room in Area Four of Luigi's Mansion. It a crate, a bucket with a Gold Bar, a frozen barrel, and a small river of water. There are green Flying Fish, though Luigi has to catch the Red and White Grabbing Ghosts for the lights to turn on. Using an Ice Elemental Ghost, Luigi can freeze the river and make his way over to a valve that stops the flow of water, also turning off the small waterfall that blocks him from obtaining the key to the Cold Storage. Obtaining the key is required but clearing the room is not.

In the PAL Hidden Mansion, besides the green Flying Fish, there are three Purple Punchers, two Purple Bombers, two Red Grabbing Ghosts, and three Blue Twirlers.
