A standee is an object in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that can be placed by a player by crouching and pressing . It acts as a respawn point, allowing ghost players to respawn in their Small form upon touching it. Standees come in the playable characters in each of their forms, and the player can only place down standees which match their character. Standee Surprises can be purchased from Poplin Shops for 10 flower coins, which will grant the player a random standee to be added to their collection.[1] In the Special World shop, 30 flower coins can be spent on standees that have not been collected and for a specific character.
There are a total of 144 standees in the game (12 for each character). Collecting them all will award one of six medals to the player's current save file.
Each character has four standees with standard frames, four with silver frames, and four with golden frames, indicating the likelihood to appear when buying Standee Surprises.
