Bulrush Express is a level in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, found in Pipe-Rock Plateau. It is accessed after completing Wiggler Race Mountaineering!. This level contains a large number of Bulrushes, with a stampede of them during the Wonder Effect. This level contains three Wonder Seeds, with a secret exit that leads to Sproings in the Twilight Forest. The difficulty of this level is four stars.

Layout[edit]

The level starts with a Bulrush rushing towards another one on top of spikes, allowing easy access to the red pipe. Entering said pipe, the Wonder Flower is immediately present. The player is forced to collect it as the camera does not move until the Wonder Effect has been activated. This Wonder Effect releases a stampede of Bulrushes, similar to the Wonder Effect found in Bulrush Coming Through!, and spawns a poison tide, subjecting the player to stay on the Bulrushes the entire course. Throughout the level, various P Switches can be found which spawn Blue Coins. Given the difficulty, this was likely done so that the player can get extra lives easily. Swirlypods are the main obstacle of the course. After some jumps done by the stampede, the player is faced with a wall of Beeswax Blocks, blocking the path, with the only option being to use the Red POW Blocks scattered around. After that, breaking blocks becomes a recurring idea done by the Bulrushes. Shortly after, the stampede comes to an exit, and the player needs to jump on some semisolid platforms guarded by more Bulrushes, while the poison tide is still rising. The Wonder Seed is then found above.

Hidden goal[edit]

Near the Wonder Seed at the right, there is a Brick Block-filled wall. The player needs to get through the course and use either Elephant Mario to smash the Brick Blocks, Drill Mario to dig through the ground and pass the wall, or a Swirlypod shell acquired earlier in the level. After an entrance to a yellow pipe, the hidden goal is found.
