Atari, Inc. was an American company that focused on game developing and home computers. Atari, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. Atari, Inc. developed many ports of Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Mario Bros. for home computers. Aside from the Super Mario and Donkey Kong ports, Atari, Inc. is also well known for games like Pong. Atari, Inc. went defunct in 1992,[citation needed] which then lead to two successor companies under the Atari brand name, those being Atari Corporation and Atari Games.
