Spined Puffers[1] are enemies in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. These pufferfish-like enemies are encountered in underwater levels and do not attack, instead defending themselves by using their retractable spikes. Spined Puffers can be immobilized from a Sound Wave Attack, but only while their spikes are down. A Spined Puffer can be defeated from taking many hits from Donkey Kong, causing it to explode and drop five beats behind.
