Mario Party minigame infoboxes

Currently, Mario Party minigames that appear in more than one installment have multiple images in their infoboxes - one for each game - which is not something we normally do. Some minigames have three infobox images because of this, usually for 1, 2, and Top 100, with Beach Volley Folly appearing in 4, 5, and Top 100. Now that this game is coming out, some minigames, such as Handcar Havoc, Face Lift, and the aforementioned Beach Volley Folly, now have appeared in four installments. I think it's officially time to stop doing it this way, and only use the oldest game for the infobox, like what the Mario Kart track articles do. Dark BonesSig.png 18:13, June 15, 2021 (EDT)

That makes sense, let's do what's consistent with similar concepts for our other pages. MarioComix (talk) 19:07, June 15, 2021 (EDT)
Agreed - RHG1951 (talk) 20:03, June 15, 2021 (EDT)

I disagree. I think the most updated ver shold be the infobox. Bubbasour11 sprite.pngBubbasour1117

Same here. Better yet, we could do what SmashWiki does - that is to say, have each version in a different tab. RickTommy (talk) 07:23, June 25, 2021 (EDT)

Agree with 7feet, RHG, and Comix --Sdman213 - Profile 23:45, June 15, 2021 (EDT)

Per 7feetunder. If Mario Kart tracks go with the original appearances, I see no reason for Mario Party minigames to do the same. We could probably extend this to WarioWario microgames as well, though if two images in the info box is fine, they could be left alone too. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. There was actually a proposal a short while back for things like SMAS levels that determined the originals should have infobox priority. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:38, July 16, 2021 (EDT)

Additional Minigames

Upon watching a GameXplain video compiling all known minigames thus far, they pointed out the possibility for Cake Factory and Catch You Letter, based on art from the pause menu from the Nintendo Treehouse demo. I want to assume that this isn't enough to confirm them, as they could just be art and nothing more, but I want to know from others whether or not they could be added to the lists. Additional Items

I'm assuming there's nothing wrong with this section. Feel free to delete or something if it's not relevant enough to the topic of improving the article.

Anyways, around minute 0:30, the JP trailer for Mario Party Superstars shows the Plunder Chest, or well, an item that looks exactly like it. I'm wondering if this info is worth adding to the item section, considering Catch You Letter and Cake Factory were added to the minigame list based on pause screen art. Mr2Seconds (talk) 19:40, June 17, 2021 (EDT)

Ok, so this probably isn't enough for a change to be made, but on 0:45 and 1:00 of the US Trailer you can see a new Warp Block with a yellow spin, instead of the cyan one from the actual Warp Block. Just wanted to point this out in case that stuff like -" Unknown item "- can be part of the article. Mr2Seconds (talk) 14:03, June 23, 2021 (EDT)

Non-playable characters

Bowser Jr. Is shown as an NPC in Archer-ival. He took the Koopa Kid's place. Can anyone add him in the list of NPC's? LucasOIntoxicado (talk) 02:22, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Yeah, he's found in 0:42 for the west trailer. Btw, other characters that are missing in the NPC section are Pokeys, Mecha Fly Guys and Paratroopas. All 3 of these appear in minigames confirmed to be in the game. Mr2Seconds (talk) 12:01, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Is there a source for those three? Just because they were in the original versions of content that will appear doesn't mean they won't be replaced. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 17:17, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
Pokeys are in the Key Artwork and the others I got from Mario Party Legacy post about the minigames. Mr2Seconds (talk) 21:11, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
I've seen screenshots of Pokeys in Pokey Pummel, Mecha Fly Guys in Mecha Marathon, and Paratroopas in What Goes Up... MarioComix (talk) 19:09, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Daisy in Mario Party Superstars

in Bobsled Run Minigame we can see next to a Birdo some weird yellow/brown character, is this Daisy?

I don't think it's Daisy. The icon looks more like Mario. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Sprite of Daisy's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate17:05, July 16, 2021 (EDT)

If you were just asking if there are any leaks, you should have been more specific rather than only putting that in the header. Your actual comment was just you asking for opinions about something, which is not what these talk pages are for. Pause screen Minigames

in Treehouse live we can see pause screen, we can see in the screen Cake ( from Cake Factory ) and Shy Guy with letter ( from Cach Your Letter ) so this Minigames are confirmed? Must be becosse we can see other elements from Minigames, like ice cream from Coney Island.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by 37.8.230.11 (talk).

I've seen that stuff too, but I feel no one is adding it simply because we haven't seen any real screenshots or footage of either. I'd understand if that's the case, as pause menu art isn't exactly confirming, as the cake could also reference Strawberry Shortfuse from Mario Party 6. It's best to just wait and see rather than to jump to any conclusions. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. New information has just been revealed

https://youtu.be/AhfYuR70bDE It’s in Japanese but I am sure someone can translate it 35.136.180.207

Brazilian Portuguese

I’m pretty sure other games have been localized to Portuguese before, as when I changed my switch language to Portuguese and then booted up Mario Kart alongside Super Mario 3D World, both games are in Portuguese.

I know that Brazilian Portuguese is different from other forms of Portuguese, but given that I’m in North America, I thought the language would remain English if Nintendo had not localized any game before.

R.O.B.Remembered Old BuddyROBSSB4EN.png 22:06, October 14, 2021 (EDT)

The games you mentioned were localized by Nintendo of Europe for Portugal. As for those games being in Portuguese for you despite being in North America, the same thing happens for Spanish, French, and technically English as well. If, for example, a game was only localized in Castilian (Spain) Spanish, then people in the Americas would still get that Spanish localization by default. That usually happens to me when I play third-party games. StarAdamStar (talk) 18:37, October 25, 2021 (EDT)

Hammer Slammer

Hammer Slammer changed its name to Aim the shutle as you can see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JasxR816wZs

Judging by the way it's capitalized, I feel that's just the instructions? I dunno, but I think it's best to wait until we can see for sure if the Item Mini-Game names have changed or not, cause the way Item Mini-Games happen don't give a lot of info to tell. Monty Mole in Mario Party 4

So the encyclopedia entry for Monty Mole says that they appeared in Mario Party 4. Yet I found nothing about them appearing in that game. So did they actually appear in Mario Party 4 or was it just a error? MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 22:10, October 28, 2021 (EDT)

Daisy's artwork

Should we use this art or this art to represent Daisy in the character section? I'm for the first one as it is a higher quality CG model, and matches up better with the other characters, whilst the one currently on the page as of the time of this being written seems to be a render based on her in game model, which looks lower quality. -- memoryman3 (talk) 19:42, October 31, 2021 (EDT)

I think the image being used now shows her a bit better, it could be re-uploaded in better quality at some point if possible. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 20:12, October 31, 2021 (EDT)
The image does show her more, but the problem I have with it is that even if it is uploaded at the highest resolution possible, it is not up to the same render quality standard as the other characters. Other Mario Party game pages do not use in-game models on the character info sections. The first piece of artwork is also used to represent Daisy in the Japanese website and the game's inner cover art. -- memoryman3 (talk) 20:49, October 31, 2021 (EDT)

Zoomed-in map view

The article currently has listed as a difference from previous installments that "Players can no longer view the board in a zoomed-in fashion; earlier games offer the option to view the board or the map separately while Super zooms in to an in-game view when viewing the map.", however this is not true. There is no prompt for it on screen, but before you roll the dice you can press B to actually open up a zoomed-in version of the map. Catzador 21:14, November 1, 2021 (EDT)

Characters' Game Appearances

In this game, there is an Encyclopedia where the characters have the featured games. Would it be good to include that in the characters section? I guess it might not be deemed necessary, but there are some deviations from the wiki, such as how Mr. I is stated to appear in Mario Party 3 even though the enemy page didn't list as such (the appearance is attributed to Big Mr. I instead). Winstein (talk) 04:26, November 30, 2021 (EST)

Snifits are also listed for Mario Party 2 despite actually being Snufits but are mistakenly called Snifits in the original Space Land due to sharing the same Japanese name. --KingGeoshiKoopshi64 (talk) 15:49, November 30, 2021 (EST)
What about Monty Mole being listed on appearing in Mario Party 4? I can’t find anything on them appearing in that game yet it is listed on the encyclopedia for Mario Party Superstars. Also, they are listed on appearing in Mario Party 10 despite that game only having Mega Monty Mole. MontyMoleLoreMaster (talk) 17:59, November 30, 2021 (EST)

Box art

I hope someone can notice this because it’s annoying me a lot more than reasonable. So, I wanted to ask; why is the image of Mario Party Superstars (the boxart) for its article still the pre-release version with the Rating Pending rating? Someone please edit it to the current North American boxart with the E for Everyone age rating. Please!!!!

All game modes online?

Um There is Shop and records and I also do not think that you can do free play online. Bubbasour11 sprite.pngBubbasour1117

R.O.B.Remembered Old BuddyROBSSB4EN.png

Shouldn’t this go under the numbered Mario Party section?

Doesn’t that cover the home console Mario Parties, which includes Switch?

Given that Super Mario Party is also in that section.

Cannot add item images to article

I just extracted the preview images for each item in the game (you can see all the images I uploaded in my contributions here; they can also be found here in the gallery with the images starting with "Item MPS".) Can someone please upload all of them so they all have images and look consistent? Zorro1 01:47, June 21 2022 (EDT)

Edit: Apparently just needed to wait to be autoconfirmed - images added. Zorro1 17:01, July 5 2022 (EDT)

Differences regarding coin-giving Koopa Troopa

I recall how in the original Mario Party, Koopa Troopa could give more coins if one passed him during the last five turns or if one was the tenth, etc., player to pass him. This is no longer the case in Superstars; Koopa Troopa, on the appropriate boards of course, gives a flat ten coins no matter what. Perhaps this information could be included in the "Differences from the Original Games" section.

Trivia: Mario's dice block in MPS cover and MP1 cover

Did you know? In both Mario Party (N64, 1999) and Mario Party Superstars (Switch, 2021) Mario has a dice block near his hand. The numbers shown on both of them are the same: 3, 7 and 10. The numbers are even in the same positions and orientations.
