Fly Swatter
Gameplay of Fly Swatter

The player controls a hand holding a fly swatter, which is moved around a backdrop by using the control pad. The player can move faster by holding down the B Button button while moving. The goal of each stage is to kill one hundred enemies, by swatting them by pressing the A Button button. The enemies include flies, which do not attack at all but are the fastest and hardest to swat, Big Flies, which fire projectiles, Fly Parents, which birth Fly Children, and Fly Bombs, which explode if left alone. An extra life appears for every 25 flies swatted. After defeating 100 enemies, King Watinga appears; it takes several hits to kill and is the same every time.

There are three levels, which repeat at a harder difficulty whenever all three are cleared:

  • Level 1: There are initially two flies. Swatting one makes another fly take its place. After defeating 20 of them, Fly Parents begin to appear in place of one of the flies. Once 40 total flies have been swatted, Fly Bombs replace the fly and Fly Parent. After defeating 20 of them, Big Flies take their place. Once 20 Big Flies have been swatted, Parent Flies appear again. When 100 total flies are swatted, King Watinga appears. To defeat him, the player must swat him 15 times. After completing level 1, Wario will run across the screen and swat a fly.
  • Level 2: There are initially four flies. Swatting one makes another fly take its place. After defeating 20 of them, two Fly Parents begin to appear in place of one of the flies and one Big Fly. Once 40 total flies have been swatted, Fly Bombs replace all of the flies. After defeating 20 of them, Big Flies take their place. Once 20 Big Flies have been swatted, two Parent Flies and two Big Flies appear. When 100 total flies are swatted, King Watinga appears. To defeat him, the player must swat him 15 times. After completing level 2, Jimmy T. will join Wario to swat a fly.
  • Level 3: There are initially six flies. Swatting one makes another fly take its place. After defeating 20 of them, six Big Flies appear. Once 40 total flies have been swatted, three Fly Bombs and Fly Parents appear. After defeating 20 of them, two Fly Parents, two Big Flies, and two Flies take their place. Once 20 Big Flies have been swatted, three Parent Flies and three Big Flies appear. When 100 total flies are swatted, King Watinga appears, who is defeated by swatting him 15 times. After level 3, Spitz, 9-Volt, and Kat will join Wario and Jimmy T to swat a fly.
