Mario's Key[1] is an item in Super Mario 64 DS. The key is made of gold with a large M in the center of it, and has Mario's cap on top of it. It is the key that unlocks the door that Mario is trapped behind; by doing so, Mario is unlocked as a playable character, and his caps appear in courses if the player character is someone other than him. Yoshi can obtain Mario's Key by defeating Goomboss.
