Konami is a third-party company that has made two Super Mario games: Mario Roulette and Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. Konami also produces the Metal Gear series, which features Solid Snake as one of the main characters and occasionally has Mario and/or Yoshi appear in cameos. Snake appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Another of the company's franchises, Castlevania, is also represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont as playable characters. On March 1, 2012, Konami acquired and fully absorbed Hudson Soft, which formerly produced the Mario Party series for Nintendo.
