Coffins are long, narrow boxes that serve as obstacles in Super Mario 64 and its remake. They only appear in Big Boo's Haunt where they lift themselves up from one side and slam back down, two of which have a Red Coin underneath them. If Mario is crushed by a coffin as it falls, he loses three wedges of health. In Super Mario 64 DS, only one Red Coin is found under a coffin.
