Green Finleys[1] are a relative of Finley in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. In spite of this, they resemble neither Blue nor Red Finleys. Green Finleys are somewhat similar to both wrasses and anglerfish, owing to their wide mouths, minuscule eyes and plump rectangular bodies. They are the rarest species in the Finley group, and behave differently each time they are found.
Green Finleys first appear in the first boss level, Big Top Bop, where Pompy throws them from the water onto the arena. Once there, Green Finleys leap agitatedly, chasing the Kongs to try and damage them. The Kongs can either stomp or roll into a Green Finley to defeat it. Alternatively, they can dodge the Green Finleys until they retreat into the water.
Green Finleys later appear in Twilight Terror, where they jump out of the water when the Kongs pass by on their Rocket Barrel. They carry various items enclosed inside bubbles, which the Kongs can collect. If crashed into, both the Green Finley and the Rocket Barrel are damaged.
A single Green Finley makes an appearance in Cannon Canyon, where it repeatedly jumps out of the water with an N letter on its lips, much like the Green Finleys in Twilight Terror. This appearance is distinct because the Kongs cannot interact with the Green Finley in any way, since the Barrel Cannon's launch trajectory does not interfere with the Green Finley.
