Konami is a third-party company that has made two Mario games: Mario Roulette and Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. Konami also produces the Metal Gear series, which features Solid Snake as one of the main characters and occasionally has Mario and/or Yoshi appear in cameos. Snake appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Another of their franchises, Castlevania, is also represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont as playable characters. On March 1, 2012, they acquired and fully absorbed Hudson Soft, which formerly produced the Mario Party series for Nintendo.
