First appearance | Dr. Mario World (2019) |
A barrier is an object in Dr. Mario World. Introduced in World 10, they are green coins with the image of a virus imprinted on it surrounded by a frame. When it is toggled on (indicated by lasers across the frame), barriers are not able to be destroyed. However, when it is toggled off, they can be destroyed either through making a capsule match next to it or targeting it with a skill or item. Dr. Baby Wario's skill is also able to remove targeted barriers that are currently toggled off. Placing a capsule without making a match will cause barriers to toggle on or off. With the exception of clouds, if a barrier is covered in an object such as barrels or Brick Blocks, it will not be able to toggle on or off until the barrier is uncovered. Moreover, when Dr. Rosalina's skill in rearranging capsules is active, landing a capsule won't change the barrier's state. Barriers only appear in stage mode.
In-game description
- "Place a capsule (without eliminating any objects) to toggle barriers on and off. Seize your opportunity when the barrier is not there!"
