Bridges are a kind of platform in the Super Mario games. It is defined as a Semisolid Platform that the player can stand on. Enemies can also stand on them. It first appears in Super Mario Bros. It appears often in later games.
History
Super Mario Bros.
Bridges first appear in Super Mario Bros. The first level it appears in is World 2-3. In this level, Cheep Cheeps jump out of the Water underneath the bridges in the level. It later appears in World 3-1. In this level, it appears only once, with three Goombas on top of it. It then appears in World 7-3. It appears as often as the bridges in World 2-3, with Cheep Cheeps still jumping out of the water underneath the bridges.
Super Mario World
Bridges return in Super Mario World. It first appears in Butter Bridge 1. It later appears in Butter Bridge 2, appearing in most of the level.
New Super Mario Bros.
Bridges appear again in New Super Mario Bros. It first appears in World 1-2, appearing only twice in the beginning of the level. It then appears in World 1-Tower, appearing almost everywhere in the level. It also appears in World 1-4, World 2-1, and World 2-3, as well as the rest of the tower levels.
