Streamers are long strips of paper that King Olly uses to bind Peach's Castle at the beginning of Paper Mario: The Origami King. After converting Princess Peach and a large portion of the Koopa Troop into Folded Soldiers, Olly summons five streamers of different colors from different locations and wraps them around the castle, then lifts it and places it on top of Hotfoot Crater. To get to the castle and stop Olly, Mario and Olivia must follow the streamers to their sources and destroy them. Each streamer's source is a spool with Olly's insignia on it, and each spool is guarded by a member of the Legion of Stationery.
After Mario defeats the Legion of Stationery member guarding the spool, a Magic Circle spawns in front of the spool, allowing Mario to use the 1000-Fold Arms to destroy the spool and clear the corresponding streamer. Upon clearing each streamer, the maximum amount of confetti Mario can carry increases.
