Template:Location-infobox The Temple of Shrooms is a location in Paper Mario: The Origami King, containing the spool of the yellow streamer.
History
After Professor Toad Digs up 4 Diamond Jewels, Mario has to go to the desert towers and put the Diamond Jewels in the missing eyes. After Mario inserts the Diamond Jewels the towers will shoot lasers in the middle of Scorching Sandpaper Minor Creating a Magic Circle for Olivia to use the Earth Vellumental power making the Temple Of The Shrooms rise out of the sand, Showing that the Yellow Streamer is wrapped around it.
Layout
The first room in the Temple Of The Shrooms has 8 pillars, 4 on each side and Egyptian themed art of Toads on the walls, one of them being a Not-Bottomless Hole, The room also has Mini-Scuttlebugs in it. When you enter the 2nd room you are surrounded by spikes forcing you to move forward, there is a Scuttlebug that Mario is forced to fight. If you go left and then down you can find a Not-Bottomless Hole and a ? Block that holds a Shiny Mushroom. To the right is also a Not-Bottomless Hole Around the front of the room is 2 Toad Statues holding a platform that are facing away from each other.
If Mario stands on one it will move the plate down allowing Professor Toad to read text, the one on the right says "The left sign is more useful.", If Professor Toad digs in the sand furthest to the left he will dig up a Magic Circle allowing you to use 1,000-Fold Arms, Using that you can pull down a staircase to reach the Left platform. If professor toad tries to read it he will say "Ah, this one is very complex. The grammar is of an ancient type, even for ancient writing! Goodness, even the interrobangs have been reversed... This will take me some time, I'm afraid." Making Professor Toad stay on the platform to the left, If Mario stands on the platform to the right the door in the middle will open.
When you enter the 3rd room it will be dark, Professor Toad Will also state that fact. You are forced to go left in this room, When you do so a torch will light up scaring Professor Toad When you get to the end of the hall the shadow of a Faceless Toad will appear making Professor Toad Think there's a ghost, There is also a Not-Bottomless Hole if you go forward a bit. When you turn left there will be spikes below you and after you pass the 2nd Egyptian art a Black Shy Guy will come out of it and slap you with a paper fan, slightly to the left of that art is a Not-Bottomless Hole, Forward past the art is a 100 Coin, Not-Bottomless Hole and another Faceless Toads shadow. If you turn right there will be more spikes below you, a Save Block and another Not-Bottomless Hole
The 4th room is very spacious, With 2 Not-Bottomless Holes on walls and 2 Toad-Head shaped statues, If you try to leave the room 2 Paper Macho Mummy Goombas will appear acting the same as regular Paper Macho Goombas. If you hit the floor instead of the Paper Macho Goombas you will create a 4x4 grid of holes that if Mario falls in he will struggle to get out of. . After entering the 5th room there will be a Toad getting eaten by Mini-Scuttlebugs If you defeat all of them it will reveal that it is actually a Faceless Toad, The room also has 3 coffins and 4 buttons in each corner, each of the buttons has a different amount of triangles on it. The coffin to the top says "Personal Internment Number: 1 4 2 3" and you need to hit the buttons with that amount of triangles in that order to open the coffin at the top. You can go through the coffins to the left and right to reveal an optional 6th room or go back to the 3rd room to get music disks. Going back to the 3rd room lets you get the disk "Heartbeat Skipper" and find a blocked Pipe. The room to the right has a Scuttlebug and a Boo in it, there is also a chest that has a collectible treasure for the Fire Vellumental Statue and Not-Bottomless Hole to the right of the room. Going up a hidden staircase lets you find a Faceless Toad in a chest.
Room 7 has a hall of statues, When you reach the end you will find 3 Faceless Toads Hanging from spider webs that Mario can pull down. Room 8 is very small being just a bridge to room 9 with an even bigger spider web that has 24 Faceless Toads hanging on it, a Boo and a Black Shy Guy. Room 9 has a Not-Bottomless Hole And a ? Block with a 100 Coin inside. It also has falling statues. A few of them have stuff inside like a Drybones, A Not-Bottomless Hole, A Boo, The entrance to room 10 And the final one has the music disk "Deep, Deep Vibes".
Room 10 has 2 bottomless holes, A ? Block With a 100 Coin in it and lot of cylinders poking out of the ground. Hammering these cylinders will make them go into the ground and glow, A few of them are trapping Faceless Toads. At the front of the room is a hint that says "A star lights your way...", This is a hint saying you need to hammer the cylinders in a shape that looks like a star to raise a staircase to bring you to room 11. Room 11 is a small room with just 2 black shy guys.
Room 12 is a dance party, This room has a save block, A pipe, More faceless toads, and the entrance to the other side of room 7.. DJ Toad needs you to find the music disk "Thrills at Night" and says that you need 40 faceless toads to start a party, You need to go around the temple to bring every [Faceless Toad]] in the temple to the dance floor, You will find a few toads in the other side of room 7 as well as coffins that you need 10 faceless toads to push open. Coffins with toads will start shaking to alert you that those are the correct coffins.
After going through the coffin with a moon on it in the 2nd row you will go to the bottom of room 7 with a final coffin in it, If you try to get too close to it you will get attacked by a lot of Scuttlebugs If you open the coffin you can get a star to kill the Scuttlebugs, after they are all defeated you get a Magic Circle to use 1,000-Fold Arms and get all the toads down. After you get all the toads and go back to DJ Toad you will start a dance party, This will make Hole Punch come and start the boss fight. after the boss fight you can destroy the yellow streamer and end the chapter.
