Template:Articleabout Power-ups give special magic abilities to the character receiving the power-up. Most of the effects let characters fight easier and/or access new areas. Below is a list of the different power-ups found in their respective debut games. All powerups eated, Turn Mario or Luigi into Mega Mario or Mega Luigi.

Super Mario Bros.

File:SMB Supermushroom.svg Super Mushroom Turns Small Mario into Super Mario, allowing him to withstand damage, break Brick Blocks, and find other power-ups.
File:SMBFireFlower.gif Fire Flower Transforms Mario into Fire Mario, letting him throw fireballs.

Super Mario Bros. 3

File:SuperLeaf SMB3.png Super Leaf Turns Mario into Raccoon Mario, letting him fly, glide, and tail whip.
The Frog Suit. Frog Suit Turns Mario into Frog Mario, allowing him to swim faster in any direction and jump higher.
The Tanooki Suit. Tanooki Suit Turns Mario into Tanooki Mario, which gives him the same abilities as the Super Leaf, but also lets him briefly turn into a statue.
The Hammer Suit. Hammer Suit Turns Mario into Hammer Mario, letting him throw powerful hammers and block enemies' fireballs by crouching.
P-Wing P-Wing Similar to the Super Leaf, but allows Mario or Luigi to fly indefinitely for one level. Taking damage, grabbing a non-flight-based power-up, or finishing the level ends the P-Wing's effect.

Super Mario Land

Super Mario World

Super Mario 64

File:SM64 VanishCap.JPG Vanish Cap Turns Mario into Vanish Mario, making him temporarily intangible, allowing him to walk through enemies and chain link fences.
File:MetalCap.jpg Metal Cap Turns Mario into Metal Mario, making him briefly invulnerable and heavy. He also doesn't need to breathe, which lets him resist toxic fumes and walk underwater.

Super Mario 64 DS

Spring Mushroom Spring Mushroom Turns Mario into Spring Mario, letting him jump higher.
A Flying Star from Super Mario Galaxy. Red Star Turns Mario into Flying Mario, letting him fly freely by spinning.
Rainbow Star Rainbow Star Turns Mario into Rainbow Mario, making him briefly invincible (same as a Super Star: in the Super Mario Galaxy series, this is used instead in order to avoid confusion between a Super Star and a Power Star.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

File:Propeller Mushroom.png Propeller Mushroom Turns Mario into Propeller Mario, letting him fly through the air and drill (while in midair) to land faster.
A Penguin Suit Penguin Suit Turns Mario into Penguin Mario, letting him slide on his belly, throw iceballs, and swim more freely (similar to the Blue Shell, Ice Flower, and Frog Suit). He also has webbed feet, so he doesn't slide when he's on ice.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

SMG2 Cloudflower.png Cloud Flower Transforms Mario into Cloud Mario, enabling him to create up to 3 cloud platforms (which are replenished by another Cloud Flower), make floaty jumps, and walk on clouds.

File:Transform nav dash active.png Dash Pepper Turns Yoshi into Dash Yoshi, temporarily causing him to dash at very high speeds.
File:Transform nav balloon active.png Blimp Fruit Turns Yoshi into Blimp Yoshi, temporarily causing him to puff up and float.
File:Transform nav light active.png Bulb Berry Turns Yoshi into Bulb Yoshi, temporarily allowing him to reveal and stand on platforms that otherwise would not be there.

Super Mario 3D Land

Statueleaf.png Statue Leaf Lets Mario glide, turn into Statue Mario, and tail whip (similar to the Tanooki Suit).

New Super Mario Bros. 2

Gold Flower artwork for New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gold Flower Turns Mario into Gold Mario, letting him launch golden fireballs, which explode with a small blast radius. Any enemies hit will give coins, depending on the number of enemies hit. These fireballs can also hit ? Blocks and turn Brick Blocks into coins. Taking damage, grabbing an Invincibility Leaf or Mega Mushroom, or clearing the level ends the Gold Flower's effect.

New Super Mario Bros. U

File:P-acornitem.png P-Acorn Turns Mario into Power Squirrel Mario, which grants him all the powers of the Super Acorn, but also lets him make midair jumps indefinitely for one level. Taking damage, grabbing a non-flight-based power-up, or clearing the level ends the P-Acorn's effect.
File:Purplestar.png Boost Star Temporarily makes it possible to defeat enemies or break blocks by tapping them on the GamePad.

Super Mario 3D World

Super Bell Artwork - Super Mario 3D World.png Super Bell Turns Mario into Cat Mario, allowing him to climb up walls and poles, run faster and slash enemies with his claws.
Artwork of a Double Cherry, from Super Mario 3D World. Double Cherry Turns Mario into Double Mario. There can be up to 5 clones of each player on screen.
File:Luckybell SM3DW.png Lucky Bell Turns Mario into Lucky Cat Mario, which grants him all the powers of the Super Bell, and also lets him turn into Golden Statue Mario with a Ground Pound. Golden Statue Mario earns coins while falling, and is invincible (like Invincible Mario).

Mario Maker
