One of the selectable tracks for the stage is an arrangement of the athletic theme from the ''[[New Super Mario Bros.]]'' series. While the P-Switch is pressed, however, the P-Switch tune from the same series will play over the stage music.
The [[Final Destination]] variant of the stage consists of a flat plain with a Warp Pipe on both sides. The stage gimmicks have also been removed; no coins appear during the match, and the stage does not scroll.

Golden Plains
Golden Plains

Golden Plains is a stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. It is based on World 1 of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and contains many Coins scattered across the stage, Warp Pipes, and both stationary and moving platforms.

Gold Samus in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
Samus upon collecting 100 coins.

While the stage appears stationary at first, it will scroll in the direction as indicated by an arrow sign that occasionally pops up on-screen. In multiplayer, however, the stage does not scroll, staying in only the first area. In addition to the yellow Coins, a P-Switch may appear and temporarily produce Blue Coins when stepped on, as well as a Red Ring that generates Red Coins, which are worth five Coins each. If 100 Coins are collected, the fighter will turn golden and their attack power is temporarily increased. They also do not flinch, although they are still vulnerable to grabs. While golden, fighters cannot collect coins.

The Final Destination variant of the stage consists of a flat plain with a Warp Pipe on both sides. The stage gimmicks have also been removed; no coins appear during the match, and the stage does not scroll.
