List of power-ups

Template:Articleabout Power-ups give special abilities to the character receiving the power-up. Most of the abilities include changing the character's size and giving the ability to fly. Below is a list of the different power-ups found in the game of their first appearance.

Super Mario Bros.

File:SMB Supermushroom.svg	Super Mushroom	Makes Small Mario or Small Luigi grow to their normal size, allowing him to break bricks.
File:SMBFireFlower.gif	Fire Flower	Transforms Mario or Luigi into Fire Mario or Fire Luigi, allowing him to throw fireballs.
	Star	Makes Mario or Luigi temporarily invincible, but it lasts only a short time.

Super Mario Bros. 3

File:SuperLeaf SMB3.png	Super Leaf	Gives Mario or Luigi the ability of flight and a tail attack.
	Frog Suit	Allows Mario or Luigi to swim faster in any direction, and allows him to jump higher.
	Tanooki Suit	Allows Mario or Luigi to fly, turn into an invulnerable statue for brief periods, and a tail attack.
	Hammer Suit	Allows Mario or Luigi to throw hammers, which do more damage than fire balls.
	P-Wing	Similar to the Super Leaf, but allows Mario or Luigi to fly for the entire level. Taking damage or finishing the level ends the P-Wing's effect.
File:Kuribo Shoe.png	Goomba's Shoe (also known as Kuribo's Shoe)	Allows Mario or Luigi to walk on spikes and jump higher.

Super Mario Land

File:MetalCap.jpg	Metal Cap	Temporary invulnerability, and ability to sink in water and barely jump higher. Has been known to be vulnerable to fall damage.

Super Mario 64 DS

	Luigi's Cap	Gives Mario, Wario or Yoshi the abilities and physical appearance of Luigi.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

New Super Mario Bros.

	Blue Koopa Shell	Lets Mario or Luigi slide as a shell, or hide to become invulnerable (to certain things), and swim faster.
	Mini Mushroom	Turns Mario or Luigi into Mini Mario or Mini Luigi and makes him tiny and light to jump higher and enter secret passages.
	Mega Mushroom	Makes Mario or Luigi temporarily gigantic, invincible and super-strong to destroy anything.

Super Paper Mario

File:SlowFlower SPM.png	Slow Flower	Temporarily slows down time; triples value of coins and points.
File:PadPill SPM.png	Pal Pill	Creates 8 small 8-bit versions of Mario, Luigi, Peach or Bowser which attack whatever enemies they come into contact with.
File:MegaStar SPM.png	Mega Star	Temporarily makes Mario, Luigi, Peach or Bowser giant and 8-bit, making him or her invincible and super-strong (similar to a Mega Mushroom).

Super Mario Galaxy

	Bee Mushroom	Allows Mario and Luigi to fly for a short time and stick to honeycombs.
File:SMG BooSuit.jpg	Boo Mushroom	Allows Mario and Luigi to become a Boo, allowing him to go through fences and read Booish.
	Spring Mushroom	Gives Mario and Luigi the power to jump higher and have very bad controls.
	Red Star	Allows Mario and Luigi to fly. While flying, they are unaffected by gravity.
	Rainbow Star	Makes Mario and Luigi temporarily invincible for a short time like a Star.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

File:Propeller Mushroom.png	Propeller Mushroom	Allows Mario, Luigi or the Toads to fly through the air and drill into the ground.
	Penguin Suit	Allows Mario, Luigi or the Toads to slide on their belly, throw iceballs, and swim more freely (comparable to the Frog Suit). The character also has webbed feet so they don't slide when they're on ice.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

	Cloud Flower	Mario or Luigi transforms into Cloud Mario or Cloud Luigi, enabling him to create 3 cloud platforms.
File:SMG2 RockMushroom.JPG	Rock Mushroom	Mario or Luigi can turn into Rock Mario or Rock Luigi, which can destroy enemies and objects when rolling.
File:Transform nav dash active.png	Dash Pepper	Yoshi turns into Dash Yoshi, temporarily causing him to dash at very high speeds.
File:Transform nav balloon active.png	Blimp Fruit	Yoshi turns into Blimp Yoshi, temporarily causing him to puff up and float.
File:Transform nav light active.png	Bulb Berry	Yoshi turns into Bulb Yoshi, temporarily allowing him to reveal and stand on platforms that otherwise would not be there.

Super Mario 3D Land

File:BoomerangFlower-SM3DL (transparency).png	Boomerang Flower	Mario or Luigi transform into Boomerang Mario or Boomerang Luigi, enabling him to throw a boomerang at enemies. The boomerang can also collect coins and activate Checkpoint Flags.
File:Katsunai Leaf.png	Statue Leaf	Mario or Luigi are given the ability to float for a short time, turn into Statue Mario or Statue Luigi, and tail attack.
File:Golden Tanooki TailNSMB2.png	Invincibility Leaf	Mario or Luigi transform into Golden Tanooki Mario or Golden Tanooki Luigi, which grants him all the powers of the Super Leaf as well as unlimited invincibility with a shorter run up to start flying.

New Super Mario Bros. 2

	Gold Flower	Gold Mario or Silver Luigi can launch golden fireballs, which explode with a small blast radius and any enemy hit will give coins, depending on the number of enemies hit. It can also turn bricks into coins.

New Super Mario Bros. U

File:P-acornitem.png	P-Acorn	Mario is given the ability to fly through an entire level.
File:Purplestar.png	Boost Star	Temporarily makes it possible to defeat enemies or break blocks by tapping them on the GamePad.

Super Mario 3D World

	Super Bell	Turns Mario into Cat Mario, allowing him to climb up walls and poles, run faster and perform special attacks with his claws.
	Double Cherry	Turns Mario into Double Mario. There can be an unlimited amount of clones depending on how many Double Cherries the player collects.
File:Luckybell SM3DW.png	Lucky Bell	Similar to the Statue Leaf in Super Mario 3D Land, it is an alternate version of the Super Bell. When the player Ground Pounds, they turn into an invincible lucky cat statue for a short period of time, creating coins in the process.
