- The Wii U (pictured) was released in North America on the 11th anniversary of the region's launch of the Nintendo GameCube.
- In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Windy Well and the next level, Castle Crush, have switched positions, with Clapper's Cavern between them.
- In Super Mario Galaxy 2, after the Cosmic Spirit has taken control of Mario's movements when assisting the player, it will often avoid collecting certain items, such as coins or Star Bits.
- Firebars are the only enemies in Super Mario Bros. to not return in Super Mario Bros. 3 (excluding Game Boy Advance remake).
