Erm…

I made a mistake two mistakes

  1. I put something on the proposal and it violated that rule you mentioned, sorry.
  2. That template I linked was about another argument.

Sorry, I did not noticed. --Super Famicom 64 09:51, 24 February 2012 (EST)

Articles relating to unreleased games

  • When making an article that is affiliated with a game that hasn't been released yet, you should add the {{newsubject}} template onto the article. If it's a certain section of an article, you input {{newsubject-section}} onto that specific section. Now, Tuber Tug is from Mario Party 9, which hasn't been released yet, so you input the {{newsubject}} template onto that article. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 18:43, 25 February 2012 (EST)

A couple of things? Okay!

Hi Raven Effect! I'll be happy to answer your questions.

1. Thanks! It's nice to be appreciated. When it is ready, I will nominate it to become featured.

2. The names of the WL4 enemies and characters are of Japenese origin. The Japenese Wikipedia gives the names for all of them. But they can be translated. See this.

3. The names are Japenese, and the English names are translations. So, I think the page title should be kept as the original name. But if bothers you, then I'll change thenm if you like.

And... Now I have a question for you! Would you like to be friends?

Okay, let me sort this out... There were never official English names. Grandy02 has merely translated the Japanese names. That is why I made redirects instead of moving the page titles. The most fitting English names have been added to the article. If that wasn't done, then alot of the Wario Land 4 enemies would forever have the {{anotherlanguage}} template. Please leave them as they are. Thanks for your concern :)

Do you take userboxes? I see that you don't... but you might in the future. Please take this...

Raven!

I made two articles with enemies from Virtual Boy Wario Land; these are Bomb-Bat and Chain-Saw Fish. But there's an itty bitty problem: I started the two articles: Blade-Face and Underwater Mayhem, but I don't know informations about them. Can someone fill only these articles? The rest, I'll take them, but if I need help, I'll ask you, because how said YoshiKong: you are a fantastic contributor for this wiki, so you can become an administrator or something like this. Enemy Categories

Hello :) Just wondering, why did you remove the enemy categories from the Wario Land 4 bosses? Don't bosses count as enemies to?

Instead of repeatedly undoing edits by Toadettefan1000, can you please tell the user why you are undoing the edits? The user might be just confused and frustrated. Yeah, we still need to be civil about this, but the user in question who started the edit war (Toadettefan1000) still deserved the Last Warning, which Raven Effect made the right call on in that regard. Mario Party 9

So this means it can't even mention that Magikoopa was in ONE version of MP9, it has to only be under kamek? No offense to you or mariowiki, but that's kind of stupid. It should still be able to mention on his page that, in one of the versions, that's what the character was called. It should be like that if it's all under one page, but if their two names for different characters on different pages, you should be able to see no matter what page you go to that that character was used in Mario Party 9.

"Policy is policy and like I said it should still be referenced but it should only say that in the American version of Mario Party 9 Kamek is renamed Magikoopa since Mario Party 9 hit Europe first so we use the names from that version of the game in order to preserve fairness since this is an international wiki not an American wiki"

True, but- "we use the names from that version of the game in order to preserve fairness since this is an international wiki" I am not trying to change it so that Kamek is not there while magikoopa is. I understand it needs to be there. However, there is nowhere on those rules that says we can't list both. If this is due to need for fairness, isn't it most fair to allow the inclusion of both of them, not only one? In the case given between Mario Strikers Charged and Mario Strikers Charged Football, that is one page under two different names. This is a different character in each game. I do not see how it is "fair" to only allow the Kamek page to hold MP9 information. I am not changing that to say Magikoopa, but simply adding on to the Magikoopa section so that both have the information. This way it includes all the regions, instead of following flawed rules. It is true, it should reflect the first name, Kamek, but I am not taking that away, only saying on a different page which needs this info, that that is another name. Please explain to me how this violates the rules, as it acknowledges that the first name is Kamek and simply allows someone looking at that article to know the information. I am not taking it off of the Kamek article and putting it on magikoopa instead, I'm just saying they should be of equal value when on two fully separate pages.

Yes, but, there isn't even a reference. All that's on that page with MP9 is "Latest Apperance". Once he's in another game, there won't even be that.

Articles on Real People

Hello Raven Effect. Sorry for the hassle it's just that Iwata's page compared to Miyamoto's is completely bare. Thanks for informing me anyway. Is there a way I can support the proposal?

So, yes, we're supposed to put film information in another article, not in the video game character's article. Thanks for finding those proposals, though. I wouldn't like to spend time looking for them. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:33, 10 March 2012 (EST)

That proposal didn't propose MERGING the film, though. I interpreted that as "don't separate existing media to a different page". This is due mostly to cannon issues. The two proposals aren't linked. If that's the case, that's an unintended effect. I interpret the proposal result as "don't take any action". Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:51, 10 March 2012 (EST)

Birdo Bird

Well, I thought the episode name was a play on Birdo's name. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:03, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

And it's pretty obvious Birdo isn't a bird. Birds have feathers, beaks, scaly legs, wings, etc. I don't think the cartoon is good proof she's a bird. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:05, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

Well, maybe the Birdos ACT like birds, but I mean, the episode name is supposed to make fun of Birdo's name. I don't think there is direct proof that Birdo is a bird. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:07, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

The episode title may imply that Birdo is a bird, but the name can also be just a play on her name, like a pun or something like that. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:08, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

I can't prove they aren't birds, but you can't really prove they are birds as well. Swoopers have wings as well but they aren't birds. Just because they have wings and they can fly doesn't necessarily mean that they are birds. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:12, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

I really don't think it directly confirms that Birdos are birds. The Birdo the Birdo is not present because, well, I guess "The Bird the Bird" sounds better and it wants viewers to think it's about birds, but in fact, it's about something that sounds similar. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:17, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

How many of them thought so? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:20, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

Okay, but I'm wondering why don't we get a consensus or something. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:23, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

All right, then. If it gets heated, though (I hope it won't, but I'm still not convinced right now) we might resort to one. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:26, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

The Missing Bird Bureau is there, but it's part of the List of Implied Organizations, which still makes me a bit skeptical. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:30, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

I think the main reason I'm so skeptical is that the show gets many things wrong. Maybe we can mention in the Birdo or the Birdo species article that Birdos are called, "birds" but we don't label them as "birds." Most people see that Birdo isn't a bird a league away. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:36, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

Perhaps so, but we shouldn't call Birdos birds. We should say "these birds have...." in sections concerning the show only. Otherwise, we should not say that they are birds (other than a category) because it is not confirmed anywhere else. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:40, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

In the cartoons section they are called birds according to that section. Everywhere else, we should call them "dinosaurs" if Nintendo calls them that. The main canon in the Mario series is not clear, but at the very least, we shouldn't mention the fact they are birds anywhere else aside from the cartoons. This way, we can keep the accuracy of both games and cartoons so one doesn't seem "more" correct than the other. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:45, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

Well, Birdos fly in that cartoon and have wings. Isn't that enough to make this cartoon Birdos different than Nintendo's? We can say, "in the cartoons, Birdos are considered to be birds." or somewhere along these lines. I want to make it sound like a different interpretation on the same species. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:51, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

The games aren't canon to the cartoons either if that's the case. I didn't say that they were different species. I said that the Birdos differed slightly (much like how Bowser differs so much in the cartoons). Maybe this wasn't clear, but that's what I wanted to say. Games aren't more correct than the cartoons, but we have to acknowledge that these two mediums portray Birdo differently.

But if you want to leave the article as it is, that's fine with me, really. Birdo is weird and controversial enough already. >_< Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:58, 13 March 2012 (EDT)
