Template:Level Koco Channel is the fifth level in the classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color game, Donkey Kong Land III. Located in the south-west part of Cape Codswallop, it is the fifth level in the area.

This level takes place on a damp river bank, where the vegetation appears to be much shorter than it was in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble's riverbank areas, as it mostly consists of small conifers, mushrooms and lichen. To complete the level, Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong have to swim through narrow underwater tunnels, but as the name suggests, the river is full of Kocos. These clownfishes can sometimes be hard to avoid, as there is little space to do so. Sneeks and Knik-Knaks can be found outside of water, on the banks. In the second half of the level, the Kongs find Squitter in a Animal Barrel. Like most insects and arachnids, Squitter cannot swim, therefore the friendly spider has to create web platforms to cross the river. Squitter's webs also prove very useful to defeat the aggressive Krimps.

At the beginning of the level, the heroes need to jump into the river and swim through a narrow passage. At the end of the long passage, they have to jump out of the water and head east across the wet land. Grabbing the letter O and defeating a few Sneeks, they must travel across the strait path until they find a deeper part of the river. Jumping into it, they swim through another small passage under a thick land mass. At the end of the underwater pathway, they find the Star Barrel. At this point, they head out of the water and then into a barrel to shoot to a high-up area. Crossing the area, they fall down from a ledge to land in an Animal Barrel. This turns them into Squitter, who must then cross a small gap. Near the end of this enemy-infested pathway, the spider finds a No Animal Sign, which turns him back into the Kongs. After that is done, the heroes have to continue down the path and swim through a rather deep path of the river, avoiding Kocos. At the end of the river, they hop out of the water an climb up a few ledges to find a flagpole. Touching this flagpole ends the level.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  • After the Star Barrel, the monkeys need to head over to the hidden barrel containing Squitter. After that, the spider must build his web platforms over the large hill to the left. Once he gets over this hill, he makes his way to another hill. Using web platforms to get on the ledge, he finds a Bonus Barrel. After passing a No Animal Sign, he turns back into the Kongs, who must enter the barrel, taking them to a Bonus Level. There, the Kongs need to swim and run through another riverbank, avoiding some enemies. At the end of the stage, they find a Bonus Coin.
  • After the final No Animal Sign, the heroes must jump into the nearest water area and swim into the passageway to the left. Soon, they find a Bonus Barrel. It takes them to a Bonus Level where they need to swim through a riverbank area and collect many stars in water and on the banks. After obtaining every star, a Bonus Coin appears at the end of the stage.

DK Coin

  • Right after the letter K, the heroes find a Knik-Knak floating in the air. They need to bounce on the foe and make their way airborne onto a high ledge. There, they find a steel keg, which they must carry over to a Koin found nearby. The Koin, with the DK Coin, is able to protect himself from most attacks, but the monkeys can throw the keg at a wall while standing on him, making the barrel bounce back and hit him. This will defeat the foe, thus giving the Kongs the DK Coin.
