Flash Black Galaxy is a galaxy appearing in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2. Located in World 6, the galaxy takes place in a large mansion. However, everything is shrouded in the dark except for the occasional second of lightning, which illuminates the area. The lightning occurs after every eight beats of the music's rhythm, similar to Beat Block Galaxy, with the same music from that galaxy being used. In addition, there are many gaps in the ground. Yoshi is found here and the level makes extensive use of the Blimp Fruit. Common enemies and obstacles here include Mines, Jack O'Goombas, and Flaptacks. The galaxy's name is a pun on "flashback".

Starting Planet[edit]
The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.
The starting planet is a large, dark tower containing a maze. The exterior design of the planet resembles the Ghostly Galaxy of the first game. To reach its top, Mario must use Blimp Yoshi to float upward while avoiding the Mines and the other enemies. The Launch Star is located at the top right of the tower. The Comet Medal is found on this planet as well. Enemies here include Jack O'Goombas and Paragoombas.
