The [[player]] will start off and go across a bridge. There, they will meet up with 4 [[Koopa Paratroopa]]s, and find 3 [[Question Block|? Block]]s, 2 containing [[coin]]s, and the middle one containing a power-up. Then, the player will see a couple of [[Brick Block]]s, the middle one will contain a [[Star]]. The player can go through the [[Warp Pipe]] under the Stone Blocks, which will lead them to a Bonus Room. The player will see a couple of [[Piranha Plant]]s along the way, and will have to jump from pipe to pipe to cross the water. The player will see a moving platform, which will carry them across the water aswell. The player here has two choices; either jump from the green [[Trampoline]], or take the platform. The player will see a Piranha Plant, along with two [[Hidden Block]]s beside it, and a Brick Block containing a [[Beanstalk|Vine]] that will lead to [[Coin Heaven]]. The player will now see four ? Blocks, the first one containing a [[Poison Mushroom]], and the other ones containing coins. Another Trampoline can be seen here. The player will see some [[Koopa Paratroopa]]s here going horizantally. Then, the player will be on solid ground, and a couple more Koopa Paratroopas can be seen here. Now the staircase along with three [[Goomba]]s will be shown. Slide down the [[Flagpole]] to complete the level, and the player will now be in World 2-2.

It is possible to get a [[Extra Life|1-Up]] by kicking the Koopa down the narrow passageway near the start of the level and allowing its shell to run into other enemies. There is a hidden power-up near the staircase before the section of the level with many [[Fire Bar]]s and [[Podoboo]]s.
