The Forest Secret Area is a secret side-scrolling level of the Forest of Illusion in Super Mario World, accessed through the secondary exit of Forest of Illusion 4. Completion of the level gains access to the Forest Fortress.

Layout[edit]

The level is a large pit that can be crossed over by two Flying Platforms; jumping on either platform triggers the level to scroll, including the background to resemble fast flying, and both platforms ascend and descend alternately. Koopa Paratroopas roam the sky and congregate in flocks, guarding various intermittent power-ups and Dragon Coins. About halfway through the ride, the player comes to a small island of Blue Blocks where an extra life can be earned inside a Rotating Block. Shortly after, just beyond the Giant Gate rest three 1-Up Mushrooms that can be reached by flying over the Giant Gate with a Cape Feather or Blue Yoshi or by jumping off Yoshi when one of the Flying Platforms reaches the highest point at the goal.
