Mario Sports Mix

Hi there! you're right I'm also keeping tabs on Mario Sports Mix!, but i'm a little worried about the hidden characters u_u i think that there will be 19 playable characters in total, 12 characters from the mario series and 7 hidden characters from the final fantasy series :/ Birdobeauties

Btw, i'm working on GameMaker8 it is a project about Birdo, Peach, Daisy and the other girls,(It is a platform game with animated characters) so i was wondering if you could help me with this project? ^^; I already have the character animations, voices and music. The only error I have is: when the character jumps, falls and gets stuck on the floor. Birdobeauties  :/

Well, I was expecting which hidden characters would appear in the game and ended up being the FF series'characters. Personally I wanted more the mario series' characters to appear in this game (specially Rosie, it had been pretty interesting), but well, I think is not bad, considering it has wifi mode as opposed to Mario Hoops that didn't have. I love Daisy's special ability, she is a cheerlader and uses a pair of flowers as pom-pons :D ¢oincoll€ctor Looks lke there is another hidden character in the roster. I wonder who could be...

Peach History

Here's the history policy: all the series, regardless of media, are to be ordered in chronological order in a "History" section, based on when they first appeared in that series relative to other series (or stand-alone games); this policy has been in effect for nearly two years (not sure how so many major pages escaped rewrites until now, however). Right now, the Mario (franchise) page has the Super Mario Bros. and "3D" Mario platformers as being sub-series, with no specific NSMB or SMG series (probably because they're too small to really bother with and break up the more important overall platforming series), but that split is pretty recent and wasn't really made through proper channels (i.e. proposals). I've always used an overall Super Mario sub-section for the core games, both 2D and 3D, and have actually been planning to make a proposal about it (but I need to finish another project first, which I will hopefully do this weekend). I actually meant to link to the Manual of Style in my revert, but I hit a shortcut key by accident and it saved the edit before I could paste in the link... - Walkazo 03:59, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Release

Don't you think it's completely unnecessary to not allow information on games yet to be released, even if tons of information on the game is out and the game is soon to be released? I'm getting the actual resolutions of the profile artworks, and when dumped from the game itself, the artworks have specific directions they face, meaning some of these artworks don't actually face the same direction for whatever reason. I have more including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wairo, Waluigi, Bowser, Jr., Ysohi, DK, Diddy, and the rest of the Final Fantasy characters. Working on saving them though. Not Actually

Trust me, I would never revert your edits just to spite you. Look in other game sections on her page, we've always mentioned the unlocking criteria for her and as far as I remember all other characters. It's just basic information that comes with the characters overall description of anything related to them in that game. If she were a standard already playable character, of course we're not gonna mention specific criteria for unlocking her, because there would be none. I don't see how mentioning information about a character being unlockable makes their descriptions incomprehensible. Enemies' Latest Appearance

Why don't remakes count as a "latest appearance" of an enemy? I think remakes can have latest appearances of stuff, since remakes are more changed or indifferent than the original games. If a game like SMS or SMG1 had included a remake of SM64 or SMW, wouldn't an enemy in that remake count as the latest appearance?--Holyromanemperortatan 16:48, 7 January 2011 (EST)

RE:FA Mario Sports Mix

Yeah, I was planning to do that for the characters, minigames, and the items. This is might what I was planning to do for the characters. Take on Toad, for instance:

Character	Abilities	Stats
	Special Shot: He makes mushrooms appear that can hinder other players from preventing Toad to make a point or a shot. Dashing Attack: For dodgeball, he simply dashes after the ball. In volleyball, he makes a mushroom appear to retrieve the volleyball. Defensive Attacks: In hockey, he simply tackles opponents if done two consecutive times, but his third consecutive attack is a mushroom popping out of the ground. The mushroom auto-homes on a nearby opponent, within a certain range. In basketball, if he stands in front of an opponent long enough, he makes a mushroom pop out of the ground.	Power	2/5
		Speed	5/5
		Technique	2/5

It's something like this, but I can tell you it may not be the final version. I haven't played as all characters yet, so I'm not sure if their attacks are extremely similar to each other's. I know all Special Shots are different, and I know some characters have different attacks than Toad, but they might be similar to each other.

I hope this chart is satisfactory. Still, I need to do some more research in the game, since I didn't yet played as all characters.

Yeah, I thought so. Earlier, I thought the defense and the dashing thing were unique among other characters, but maybe it is a little insignificant. Those can be mentioned in the corresponding character articles rather than this one.

For items and minigames, I'll do something like this too, except I'm going to do what I have done in the past with other articles that involves a table.

Mario Sports Mix Special Abilities Idea Suggestion

Hi MeritC. You made a good point on the talk page of this idea; however, I was wondering if we could be able to create a separate page concerning "Special Shot (Mario Sports Mix)". This page can cover the special moves entirely for each sport, for each character, and as well as including images/screenshots of the moves. The shots would be appropriately be divided into sections on this article and be named as "Mario's Special Shot" or "Peach's Special Shot".

I am not sure if we could do this, but seeing that you have some experience with the Wiki, I was wondering if you knew whether or not we are capable of doing this? Propeller Toad (talk)

Trivia about translation

I already discussed it a bit on the Mario Kart 7 talk page, but I find your reason to not include trivia about translations a bit vague. You thought this kind of trivia would fit better on another Nintendo-wiki, but why do you think this kind of info is less suitable for the MarioWiki? Also what did you mean with another Nintendo-wiki?

I think this info can be placed on the MarioWiki. Here on MarioWiki, we are talking about the Mario series. This series that will get for the first time in thirty years these three languages included. Because it's a change to the Mario series, I think this is really noteworthy, especially for the MarioWiki. I also am not aware of a rule that prevents this kind info to be posted on MarioWiki.

Ok, but the my question is still not answered. What makes this kind of trivia less suitable for MarioWiki and more suitalbe for NintendoWiki? I really wonder if the MarioWiki is less suited. For what I have seen on NintedoWiki, many Mario article there are stubs or short summaries. They often redirect to MarioWiki for more in dept information.

The reason why I want this trivia on MarioWiki is because I think it's special that Nintendo suddenly starts translating to more languages, after all these years. I thought it needed to be hi-lighted. Fortunately we also have those "Names in other languages" sections.

Not really, I agree it would fit on Nintendo wiki, but like Arend said: these are the first Mario games to support Dutch (not counting the Mario & Sonic games, as these are Sega-published), why is this wiki not worth noting? We are the Mario Wiki, these are Mario games, we note this is the debut of Dutch in the Mario series.
