Pufftons are common enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are large owls that have an indigo feather coloration, a long mustache and a leather sash that bears the Snowmad insignia wrapped around their body. Pufftons are the sturdier relatives of Hootzes and have an even stronger variant named Tufftons. Pufftons act similarly to Tiki Torks from Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Pufftons always fly in the air, in either a horizontal or vertical pattern. They usually appear between two platforms, and the Kongs must jump on them to move to the next platform. Pufftons do not target the Kongs, but they still lose a heart for touching a Puffton. The Kongs can defeat Pufftons by either jumping on them or rolling into them three times, or by throwing another enemy or barrel at them. Donkey Kong earns a Banana Coin per each jump on a Puffton.
