In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Gold Bars x3 are sold at Deepdown Depot, where they can be sold for 300 coins. While this is selling at a loss, it was included as a method to increase the amount of money the player can keep. By buying Gold Bars and then storing them at an item shop, the player can leave them there until they need more coins.
