Use {{ref needed}} for general statements.
Use {{ref needed|date}} or {{ref needed|foreign name}} to change the categorization from the default to the dates or foreign names category, respectively.
Note that this tag should be completely omitted within templates with built-in date tracking (infoboxes and {{flag list}}) and foreign name tracking ({{foreign names}}).
