The player must attempt to reach the goal line at the end by using a pogo stick. The player can tell if a Piranha Plant is going to come out of its pipe or not. If a Piranha Plant pokes the tip of its lips out and gnaws, it comes out of its pipe. If the Piranha Plant does not gnaw, it stays in its pipe. Additionally, Piranha Plants appear only in green pipes.

In Shroom City and Mini-Game Attack, the player is given 60 seconds to reach the end of the course. If time runs out, the player loses. The course is much shorter in Shroom City, whereas Mini-Game Attack uses the longer course that is also used in Play Land.
