The Super Mario Wiki contains thousands of images and music files that we try our best to keep track of, from the smallest to the largest. Every file that's uploaded requires a license template, which acknowledges the copyrights of Nintendo and ensures that all files are organized and categorized correctly across the wiki. When uploading a file, you'll see a dropdown box that lists the various license templates used on the wiki. To add a license template, simply click on the dropdown box and select one from the list. After you've uploaded the file, the selected license template will appear on the file page, and the corresponding category will be applied to the file. If you're not sure what type of license should be used for a file you want to upload, see the examples listed below.
Every file uploaded to the Super Mario Wiki requires a license (also known as a copyright tag), which acknowledges the copyrights of Nintendo and ensures that all files are organized and categorized correctly across the wiki. When uploading a file, you'll see a dropdown menu that lists the various license tags used across the wiki. To apply a license to a file, simply click on the dropdown box and select one from the menu. After you've uploaded the file, the selected license template will appear on the file page, and the corresponding category will be applied to the file. If you're not sure what type of license should be used for a file you want to upload, see the examples listed below.

Most common licenses
Don't tag a file with multiple copyright templates; choose the one that best applies to the file in question.

Don't tag a file with multiple copyright templates; choose the one that best applies to the file in question.
