Every file uploaded to the Super Mario Wiki requires a '''license''' (also known as a copyright tag), which acknowledges the copyrights of [[Nintendo]] and ensures that all files are organized and categorized correctly across the wiki. When [[Special:Upload|uploading a file]], you'll see a dropdown menu that lists the various license tags used across the wiki. To apply a license to a file, simply click on the dropdown box and select one from the menu. After you've uploaded the file, the selected license template will appear on the file page, and the corresponding category will be applied to the file. If you're not sure what type of license should be used for a file you want to upload, see the examples listed below.
== | Don't tag a file with multiple copyright templates; choose the one that best applies to the file in question.

Every file uploaded to the Super Mario Wiki requires a license (also known as a copyright tag), which acknowledges the copyrights of Nintendo and ensures that all files are organized and categorized correctly across the wiki. When uploading a file, you'll see a dropdown menu that lists the various license tags used across the wiki. To apply a license to a file, simply click on the dropdown box and select one from the menu. After you've uploaded the file, the selected license template will appear on the file page, and the corresponding category will be applied to the file. If you're not sure what type of license should be used for a file you want to upload, see the examples listed below.
Don't tag a file with multiple copyright templates; choose the one that best applies to the file in question.
